Event #62: The $1,111 Little One for One Drop

Nível 8 : 200-400, 50 ante

The Little One for One Drop, the smaller sibling of the Big One for One Drop, kicked off on Wednesday afternoon in the Brasilia Room of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and attracted a bumper crowd of players, many of whom took advantage of the unlimited reentry policy made available for this event.

Among the scores of players who chose Day 1a as their start day were the likes of Jason Wheeler, Jason Helder, DJ MacKinnon, Barry Shulman, Darren Elias, Chris Moorman, Timothy Reilly, Frank Rusnak, Melanie Weisner, and many more.

Wheeler was one of the top stacks in the room to end the night, but it was Cuong Van Nguyen to finish on top with 91,000 in chips.

Some of those who will need to buy in on Thursday's Day 1b because they busted this flight include Erik Seidel, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Amanda Baker and JC Tran. Tran actually busted six times during the eight hour-long levels.

Day 1b commences at Thursday at 12 p.m. local time and the plan is to mirror that of Day 1a — eight one-hour levels with a 20-minute break after each level. Late entry and reentries are permitted to the end of the sixth level and that should make for a monster-sized field like that of 2013.

Until then, it is goodnight from the PokerNews Live Reporting team.

Wheeler Gets Aces Paid Off

Nível 8 : 200-400, 50 ante

Jason Wheeler raised from middle position and found one caller from a couple of seats to his left. Wheeler continued with a 1,600 bet on the {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{Q-Spades} flop and was called. Both players checked the {5-Spades}, but Wheeler led for 3,000 on the {3-Diamonds} river. His opponent called and then mucked when Wheeler showed {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}.

Lichtenberger Doubles

Nível 8 : 200-400, 50 ante

After a raise from a player in the hijack, Andrew Lichtenberger moved all in from the small blind and received a call.

Lichtenberger: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Opponent: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

Lichtenberger caught a pair on the {6-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} flop and held after the board completed {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Lichtenberger and others are likely looking to go big or go bust late in the day as this strategy would allow a potential reentry for Day 1B if their fate is the latter.

Mizrachi Busts

Nível 7 : 150-300, 25 ante

Michael Mizrachi has busted from the Little One for One Drop. His {8-Spades}{6-Spades} was no match for the {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} of his opponent, despite him flopping an eight on the {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop.

As late registration is firmly closed, Mizrachi will have to wait until Thursday if he wants to donate another $111 to the One Drop Foundation.
