Alexander Doubles; Al-Darwich Left with Under One Big Blind

Nível 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

James Alexander opened with a raise from early position, then action fell on Somar Al-Darwich in the next seat, but on the other side of the dealer. He reraised all in for 1.99 million. Play folded back to Alexander, and he called with the {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}. Al-Darwich had the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

Alexander was the player all in, having just 60,000 in chips less than Al-Darwich. The board ran out {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, and Alexander won the pot. He doubled up, and Al-Darwich was left with under one big blind.

Jay Farber raised to 175,000 under the gun, and Chris Lindh called from middle position. Phil Mader then pushed all in from middle position, and both Farber and Lindh called. The flop came {k-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and Farber led out for 1,700,000, and Lindh folded pocket queens face up.

Pellegrino Drops Two

Nível 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Bryan Pellegrino raised to 180,000 from under the gun, Fabian Ortiz called in the cutoff, and the flop fell {4-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Pellegrino check-called a bet of 215,000, and the turn brought the {5-Hearts}.

Pellegrino checked, Ortiz fired out another 215,000, and Pellegrino called.

Both players knuckled when the {3-Hearts} completed the board, and Pellegrino showed {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a pair of sevens. Ortiz had him beat with {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens, winning the pot.

The very next hand, Maxx Coleman raised in the cutoff, and Pellegrino defended his big blind. Pellegrino check-called a bet of 175,000 on a flop of {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Spades}, then check-folded to a bet of 450,000 when the {q-Diamonds} turned.

Morgenstern Gets Tricky

Nível 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

George Wong raised to 200,000 from early position, Anton Morgenstern flatted directly from Wong's left, and David Benefield bumped it up to 625,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Wong who asked Benefield for a count, and Benefield had about 3.2 million behind. That information was enough to get Wong to release, but Morgenstern woke up with a four-bet to 1.1 million. Benefield sat still in his chair for two minutes before electing to muck, and Morgenstern's sneaky play added nearly a million to his stack.
