Lindh Jams the Turn, Gets There

Nível 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Christopher Lindh bet 19,200 after his opponent in the big blind checked with the board reading {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. The big blind raised to 62,000, prompting Lindh to move all in. The big blind seemed anguished and at one point held his cards out as if he was going to drop them into the muck. He pulled them back, however, and continued thinking. Finally, he reached back and decisively slid his entire stack in, calling it off.

Lindh: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Big blind: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

He was ahead with two pair, but Lindh had plenty of outs with a flush draw and a higher pair. The dealer burned and turned an {a-Clubs}, completing Lindh's flush.

"Motherf*****," the big blind said, slapping the table in frustration.

Lindh now holds nearly 700,000 in chips.

Ladies Night at the Main Event

Nível 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Lisa Costello
Lisa Costello

On table in the Brasilia Room has an unusually large percentage of female players, three out of eight. Lisa Costello and Stacy Taylor have been battling it out most of the day, and Amanda Baker was recently moved to the table as well. The women are seated almost right in a row.

Costello added a bit to her stack in a recent hand. She raised to 6,500 preflop, and only one player called. Both players checked the {2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop, then checked again on the {6-Spades} turn and the {6-Diamonds} river. Costello's opponent showed {a-}{9-} for ace high, but Costello showed {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a better ace high. She took the pot, and now sits with 158,000.

Watson Chipping Up

Nível 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Mike "SirWatts" Watson has been chipping up today to move up over the 300,000-chip mark.

Just now he was involved in a hand that saw just him and a lone opponent left by fourth street, with Watson having been the lone check-caller of a 17,000 flop bet after the first three cards had come {4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Watson then fired 35,000 on the {A-Diamonds} turn, and after tanking a while his opponent mucked.

Doesn't Take That Long For Lacay to Call

Nível 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Ludovic Lacay
Ludovic Lacay

Ludovic Lacay opened for 6,000 from middle position. He was only called by the big blind player.

The flop came down {2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {3-Clubs} on the turn. Both players checked again.

"Deuce!" Lacay commanded to the dealer.

But it was the {A-Diamonds} that hit the river instead. The player in the big blind checked again to Lacay who fired 10,000. The big blind decided to raise to 20,000 and Lacay grabbed chips almost immediately.

"Wait," he said. "I'm going to think for a while on this one."

After just about five seconds Lacay threw the chips into the pot.

The big blind showed {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds} but it was no good against Lacay's {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

"Just put my chip count at zero," Lacay said to us after the hand. "That's where I'll be in two hours anyways."

Seidel Survives Twice

Nível 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Erik Seidel all in
Erik Seidel all in

Former WSOP Main Event champ Erik Seidel was down to his last 20,000 in chips here in Level 14, but he's already more than quadrupled that number. After doubling up early on, Seidel was all in with {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} against an early position player's {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. The board ran out {Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{Q-Clubs}, and Seidel faded a bevy of outs on the river to increase his stack to 88,000.

Reason Busts One

Nível 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Picking up the action on the {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} board, Benjamin Reason check-called his opponent's all-in bet with the {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for a set of nines. His opponent had the {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and was drawing dead. The river completed the board with the {K-Clubs}, and Reason scooped the pot to move to 268,000 in chips.

Put it in the Blog! I'm Back!

Nível 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Mark Kroon
Mark Kroon

One-time chip leader Mark Kroon has had a tumultuous Day 3, but he's started to chip back up after the dinner break. We caught up with Kroon and another player staring at a flop of {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. The player in early position bet 8,000 and Kroon called. On the {Q-Spades} turn, the aggressor fired again, this time 22,000, and Kroon came along. The {2-Spades} peeled off on the river and this time it was checked to Kroon, who bet 21,500. The other player called, and quickly found out the bad news. Kroon tabled {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for trip sevens, which barely pipped his opponent's {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}.

"Put it in the blog! I'm back!" he told our reporter on the scene as he began raking in his new chips.
