Karamalikis Busts; Kalayli Doubles

Nível 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Malek Kalayli and Jonthan Karamalikis were all in preflop and close to even in chips.

Kalayli: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Karamalikis: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

And they are off to the races. The race didn't last long when the {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} board ran out. Karamalikis had Kalayli barely covered and was left with 20,500.

Karamalikis was all in the very next hand and doubled up when his {j-Hearts}{9-Spades} made a straight against his opponent's eights. Karamalikis ended up busting a few hands later

Cascado Wins Big

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Daniel Cascado
Daniel Cascado

The {3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Hearts} board was dealt and a 300,000+ pot was brewing in the middle. The player in the small blind checked over to Daniel Cascado who requested a count of the person's stack. Then after a solid 90 seconds, Casacado checked behind but seemed hesitant to show his hand. His opponent, in position, showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a missed straight draw. When Cascado realized his opponent didn't have a pair he tabled his {7-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a pair of threes and a huge pot.

Quite the Comeback for Atkinson

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We were walking by a table when a player stopped up and said "I got a story for you." He then pointed out Robert Atkinson, who was sitting on an above average stack of 250,000. That may not sound too impressive, but it is considering that he was down to just 800 chips at the 800-1600 level! That's right, Atkinson has fought from a single small blind over thirty big blinds, and he's not done yet. If he can complete the comeback, we might have a new chip and a chair story to tell for years to come!

Notash Busts One

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Bijon Notash and his opponent had it all in preflop with near equal stacks.

Notash: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The board looked promising for the queens to start when it came {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and then {7-Spades} but the {k-Diamonds} river gave Notash the win. After counting all the chips Notash barely had his opponent covered, and he ended up eliminating him.

Carroll Notches Huge Double

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We only caught the aftermath of the hand, but we saw one of the few notables remaining, James Carroll, take down a huge pot to put him up there with our chip leaders. We know that on a flop of {k-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades}, Carroll got all of his 255,000 stack into the middle, and he was in great shape against the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} of Mario Sanchez. Carroll was just looking to dodge an ace, and he did that on the {2-Spades} turn, and the {q-Hearts} river.

Once the chips were counted down, Carroll rocketed up to 525,000. Despite taking that hit, Sanchez is still well above average with 380,000.

No Father/Daughter Bracelet This Time

Nível 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Yesterday, we reported that Danny Daniels, father of Dana Castaneda, gold bracelet winner of Event #54, was in the field and they were hoping to become the first father/daughter bracelet winners in World Series of Poker history. Sadly, that journey will have to wait, as Daniels was just eliminated from the tournament.

Daniel Cascado raised from early position to 16,500. A player in late position called the raise and when action got to Daniels, he moved all in. Casacado folded and the late position player, after some thought, made the call.

Daniels: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Opponent: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

Daniels saw the disappointing news right on the flop when it came {7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and he couldn't find any help on the {4-Hearts} turn and {2-Spades} river.
