Cy Williams Leads Final 15; Loni Harwood Still in Hunt

At the start of the day, 297 players were hoping to set themselves up for a final table run in Event #60 $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em. After 11 levels of play, only 15 still have a shot at obtaining that goal, and the player in prime position to do so is Cy Williams, who bagged up 1.372 million chips. Not far behind is Bijon Notash with 1.255 million, and Daniel Cascado (1.106 million), who just finished runner up in Event #24 earlier this summer.

Along the way to the end of the day, the following players were eliminated: Manig Loeser (269th), Jeremy Ausmus (219th), Bryan Micon (162nd), Rupert Elder (125th), Bill Chen (112th), Lauren Kling (91st), Melanie Weisner (78th), Yuval Bronshtein (44th), and Jeff Madsen (33rd).

We still have a few notables in the hunt for the bracelet, including circuit grinder Hiren Patel (1.099 million), Loni Harwood (669,000) and Ryan Julius (479,000).

Ashwin Sarin opened to 35,000 and Emil Olesson followed with a shove all in for 261,000. Mika Paasonen made the call and Sarin folded.

Aleksejs Meless Eliminated in 17th Place ($21,748)

Aleksejs Meless raised it up to 50,000 in middle position, leaving himself just 75,000 behind. Yongshuo Zheng reraised to 100,000, and when it got back to Meless, he moved all in for just 25,000 more. Zheng quickly called.

Meless was in rough shape versus the big pair of Zheng, and he never had a sweat, as the board ran down . After winning that hand, Zheng is now up to 860,000.

Henry Lu Eliminated in 18th Place ($21,748)

The action folded to Hiren Patel in the small blind who raised to 40,000. Henry Lu, the big blind, reraised to 84,000 and it was back on Patel. Patel 4-bet to 172,000 and Lu 5-bet shoved. Patel called and the hands were tabled.

Lu was behind and was the player at risk as they headed to the flop. It came and gave Patel a set. The turn gave Patel quads and Lu was drawing dead. To add a bit of salt to the wound, a came on the river and Lu was sent to the rail in 18th place.
