Girl-on-Girl Action

Nível 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Xuan Liu opened to 800 from under the gun, and the action folded to Loni Harwood, who three-bet to 1,750 from the big blind. Both players checked after the flop fell {j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, and the turn brought the {3-Spades}. Harwood led out for 1,850, Liu called, and the river was the {9-Clubs}.

Harwood led out again - this time for 2,625 - and Liu pursed her lips together, thought, then called. Harwood ripped over {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} for a pair of aces, prompting Liu to flick her cards in the muck.

"Queen-Jack, Showers"

Nível 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

When we arrived at Table 181, the board read {4-Spades}{6-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, and {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} was sitting in front of a player in the nine seat. Jason Mercier's cards were already in the muck, and he was collecting his things, preparing to leave.

"Queen-jack," he told our reporter. "Showers."

Mercier then told his neighbors Brandon Meyers, David Tuthill, Darryll Fish, and Danny Suied that he will stay until they receive the shots of patron they previously ordered. He did, took the shot, and is still lingering around, shooting the breeze with some friends.

Lindgren Gets Value From Trip Aces

Nível 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

With the board reading {4-Spades}{A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{A-Spades}, and over 5,000 in the pot waiting to be claimed, Erick Lindgren fired a bet of 1,400 into the middle.

Lindgren's opponent rubbed his forehead and grimaced as he made the classic crying call, and when "E-Dog" revealed his {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, the player realized he had just been taken on the grand tour of value town.

The win pushed Lindgren's stack over 24,000, and he continues to climb as the last level of the night comes to a close.

Hellmuth Grinding Through Hellish Conditions

Nível 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

With a cacophony of college sounds echoing directly behind him, Phil Hellmuth briefly retreated into his personal bubble, shielding himself from the acoustic assault happening all around.

The cause of the commotion is a light-hearted and boisterous brouhaha between Darryll Fish, Jason Mercier, Danny "Miami Boss" Suied, and Yevgeniy Timoshenko, who are living life the right way over rounds of Patron and reraises.

Nonetheless, Hellmuth has continued to grind through the distractions, maintaining his stack at around 11,000 chips and giving himself a chance to compete during tomorrows combined Day 2.

Clements Among Leaders of Day 1b Survivors

Nível 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Scott Clements, WSOP 2013 Event 06 Day1b

Today the World Series of Poker set a record for field size of a non-main event. Day 1b of event six, the $1500 buy-in “Millionaire Maker," brought 2,630 entries. Combined with the 3,713 from day 1a in the morning, this event featured a record 6,343 entries, well above the previous record of 6,012 (set in 2009). Among the chip leaders of the unofficial 690 survivors from ofDay 1b is two-time WSOP bracelet winner Scott Clements, who has over five million in lifetime earnings and will move to day 2 with 66,225 chips.

The event was so popular that tournament director Jack Effel decided that each flight would play only eight levels instead of the nine that had originally been planned. That change in the schedule was prompted by a lack of available tables for day 1b. Ending the first flight an hour earlier provided additional table space for late-registrants to 1b.

The record-breaking field means the “Millionaire Maker" will feature a prize pool of $8,563,050, with $1,198,780 going to the winner. All nine players who make the final table will earn six-figure payouts. Here’s a complete list of final table payouts:

PlacePrize
1st$1,198,780
2nd$741,903
3rd$534,506
4th$400,408
5th$302,104
6th$229,575
7th$175,714
8th$135,467
9th$105,154

The event will pay out 648 players, with a min-cash earning $2,740.

Day 1b of the event saw a wealth of big names. Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth, Jason Mercier, and Scott Seiver all played this flight after busting out of 1a earlier in the day. The legend T. J. Cloutier was also at the felt, as was Maria Ho, Darryll Fish, Danny “Miami Boss” Suied, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, McLean Karr, 2010 Main Event runner-up John Racener, and a host of others. The day also saw its share of notable bustouts. Seiver, Karr, Maria Ho, Jeff Shulman, Jonathan Little, and Lauren Kling all failed to make it through to day two.

In addition to Clements, other chip leaders at the end of the flight include Kyle Allen, with 71,125, and Teddy Djmal, with 68,800. Djmal build a big chunk of his stack when he busted two players with 10-6 offsuit. After calling a raise and a re-raise preflop, Djmal and got his chips in the middle against two opponents on the flop of {6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades}. Both his opponents held {a-}{q-}, and Djmal scooped a huge pot.

The event continues Sunday at 1:00 PM, and is scheduled to play for another 10 levels. The event is then scheduled to conclude on Monday, although the enormous field size has already prompted speculation that the WSOP will extend the event onto a fourth day.
