Jaka Loses a Flip

Nível 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

Faraz Jaka opened for a raise in the cutoff, and an opponent on the button shoved for around 5,000. Jaka made the call.

Jaka: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Button: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, keeping Jaka in the lead but adding outs to his opponent's hand. An {a-Diamonds} on the turn left Jaka in bad shape, and he didn't improve on the river.

When we walked up to table Gold 14 in the Brasilia Room, Toddy Terry had already checked the {Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop from the small blind. The big blind had bet out 2,500 and the player under the gun had made the call. Terry announced all in and shoved his stack of about 16,000 forward. The big blind, who appeared to have about 7,000 behind, took some time but folded. The other player took about as much time, and folded as well with only a little over 5,000 behind.

Cheung Jams the River

Nível 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Robert Cheung raised an opponent who had fired 2,375 with the board reading {9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. His opponent called for 5,250 total, and the players watched a {k-Clubs} fall on the river, completing two of the draws. Cheung immediately moved all in after his opponent checked. The player went deep into the tank.

"Will you show me?" he asked. Cheung's only response was to continue to stare blankly into the distance.

After a couple of minutes of thought, Cheung called the clock on his opponent. About 30 seconds into his final allowed minute of consideration, the player folded, and Cheung mucked his hand and scooped the pot.

Vedes' Jacks Are Good

Nível 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

From middle position French pro Ludovic Lacay made it 450 and the player on the button reraised to 1,300. Tommy Vedes in the big blind made the cold call and Lacay added some chips to see a flop as well. With {7ss}{Q-Spades}{4-Spades} on the table Vedes and Lacay checked to the pre flop most aggressive player. That gentleman bet out 1,300 and Vedes was the only one calling. On the turn came the {6-Spades} and Vedes checked again. The aggressor bet out 2,700 and Vedes called once more. Both players checked on the {9-Diamonds} river and Vedes showed his {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for a flush. THat was a winner, his opponent mucked and Vedes started stacking.
