There are to many players in this tournament to house the all in the Brasilia Room. Therefor the Amazon Room is in use as well. The entire Orange section is occupied by $2,500 players. Here are some of the recognizable faces from that area:
Good morning, and welcome to PokerNews' coverage of Event #56: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em here at the 2013 World Series of Poker. Cards will be in the air at 12 noon, and we will see 11 levels played today, each lasting one hour. Stacks will be fairly deep to begin with, as each entrant will start with a stack of 7,500 and blinds of 25 and 50.
Last year, American Joey Weissman bested a field of 1,607 players to earn $694,609 and a WSOP gold bracelet. Notable pros Vanessa Selbst, Pius Heinz and Jonathan Little made deep runs, but nobody could stop Weissman's run through the tournament. Last year's field also coincided with the $50,000 Players' Championship, so a similarly large field and large prize pool seems likely this year.
