Alaei Over a Million

Nível 22 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Daniel Alaei
Daniel Alaei

In two hands, Daniel Alaei's stack has gone from 100,000 to 1.1 million chips, giving him over 13 big blinds.

After quadrupling up, Alaei moved all in the very next hand for 460,000 from early position. Phil Laak called on the button, and both blinds folded.

Alaei: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Laak: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Laak was in great shape to score a knockout and push his stack back above two million chips, and the {6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop whiffed Alaei's hand completely, but the {a-Spades} spiked on the turn to give him a pair of aces. The {j-Spades} bricked on the river, and Alaei doubled to over 1.1 million chips.

Laak fell to 1.175 million.

Bohn Can't Bluff the River

Nível 22 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Nick Schulman opened for 160,000 from the hijack and Blake Bohn called from the big blind. The {6-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Spades} flop saw Bohn check, Schulman bet 180,000 and Bohn wake up with a check-raise to 400,000. Schulman gave it some thought and then laid down his hand.

Not long after, there was 320,000 in the pot and a board reading {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{a-Clubs} when Bohn bet 150,000 only to have Connor Drinan raise to 310,000. Bohn responded with a three-bet to 800,000 and Drinan thoughts for several minutes before making the call. Bohn sheepishly tabled the {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and Drinan was good with the {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Nível 22 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Jeremy Ausmus raised on the button to 160,000, Chris Klodnicki three-bet from the small blind to 400,000, and Lawrence Greenberg moved all in from the big blind for 1.755 million. Ausmus and Klodnicki both folded, and Greenberg scooped the pot.

Alaei and Kicking

Nível 22 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Daniel Alaei moved all in for 100,000 from the hijack seat, Martin Jacobson called on the button, Phil Laak called out of the small blind, and Brandon Steven isolated, three-betting to 320,000 from the big blind. Neither Jacobson nor Laak called.

Alaei: {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Steven: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Alaei was getting more than four-to-one in the coin-flip scenario, but received no help from the flop ({4-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}). The {q-Spades} on the turn gave him eight more outs to double though, and he made a winning pair of jacks when the {j-Spades} completed the board.

Alaei more than quadrupled up to 470,000 chips, and now has more than five big blinds.

Sexton Doubles Through Klodnicki

Nível 22 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

From under the gun, Chris Klodnicki opened to 160,000. MIke Sexton reraised all in for 450,000 from the cutoff seat, and Klodnicki made the call when action got back to him.

When the hands were opened, Klodnicki's {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} was up against the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} for Sexton. Sexton had the best hand, but Klodnicki was plenty live.

The flop, turn and river ran out {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{J-Spades}{3-Clubs}, and Sexton doubled up.

Dan Shak Eliminated in 23rd Place ($173,723)

Nível 22 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Dan Shak -- 23rd Place
Dan Shak -- 23rd Place

Chris Klodnicki raised to 160,000 from the hijack seat, and Dan Shak made the call from the big blind. The flop came down {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, and Shak checked. Klodnicki fired 205,000, and Shak check-raised all in for approximately 1.5 million. Klodnicki called.

Shak showed the {A-Spades}{8-Spades} for a flush draw, and Klodnicki tabled the {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for top pair of kings.

The turn was the {K-Hearts} to give Klodnicki trips, then the river completed the board with the {6-Clubs}. Shak had missed his draw and was eliminated in 23rd place for $173,723. Klodnicki moved to 3.85 million in chips.

Shove from Busquet; Alaei Very Short

Nível 22 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

From early position, Martin Jacobson raised to 160,000. Action folded to Olivier Busquet on the button, and he reraised all in for about 1.3 million. In the big blind was Daniel Alaei, and he tanked for a bit before folding and leaving himself with 120,000. Jacobson also folded, and Busquet won the pot.

Octo-Niner Doubles

Nível 22 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Jeremy Ausmus open-jammed 730,000 on the button, and Chris Klodnicki called out of the small blind.

Ausmus: {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Klodnicki: {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Ausmus made top pair when the flop fell {2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, but the {j-Hearts} on the turn provided the Octo-Niner a little bit of a sweat. A queen or a jack on the river could eliminate him in 23rd place, but the {9-Diamonds} bricked off, and he doubled.
