Fishhooks for Finger

Nível 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

After the pot was opened for 5,500, Martin Finger, who won a bracelet not long ago, three-bet to 14,000 from the hijack and Sorel Mizzi four-bet to 30,300 on the button. The original raiser folded, Finger called and it was heads-up action to the {9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop, which both players checked.

When the {4-Diamonds} turned, Finger led out for 24,000 and Mizzi called. Both players then returned to checking when the {8-Hearts} peeled off on the river. Finger tabled the {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for jacks and tens. Mizzi mucked.

Mo Check-Folds the River

Nível 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Jason Mo raised to 6,500 from under the gun, Kyle Julius three-bet to 15,500 in the cutoff, and Mo called. Both players knuckled on a flop of {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, and the {9-Diamonds} turned. Mo led out for 23,500, Julius called, and the {a-Diamonds} completed the board.

Mo checked, Julius tossed out 52,000, and Mo tank-folded.

Jaka Shoves on Elias

Nível 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

We happened upon the action with a board reading {6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and quite a few chips in the middle. We're not sure of the prior action, but when we arrived Darren Elias had 40,000 out in front of him and was facing an all-in shove from Faraz Jaka, who had about 165,000. Elias thought for a good amount of time before conceding the hand.

Meanwhile, Matt Waxman and Chris Johnson have been eliminated from the tournament.

Antonio Esfandiari vs. Lee Markholt

Nível 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Antonio Esfanfiari raised to 5,300 from the hijack and Lee Markholt three-bet to 15,600 from the small blind. Esfandiari called and the flop came down {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

Markholt continued for 18,000, Esfandiari called, and the {K-Diamonds} followed on the turn. A check from Markholt led to a bet of 28,700 from Esfandiari. After about 60 seconds, Markholt check-raised to 98,600. Esfandiari mulled it over for about two minutes, but ultimately folded.

Check-Calling Klein

Nível 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Bill Klein raised to 6,000 in the cutoff, Daniel Alaei three-bet to 16,000 on the button, and the action folded back to Klein, who called.

The flop fell {9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, Klein check-called a bet of 14,000, and the turn was the {a-Spades}. Klein checked, Alaei bet 31,000, and Klein called.

The {4-Clubs} completed the board, Klein checked a third and final time, and Alaei tossed out 85,000. Klein called, showing {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a pair of aces.

Alaei mucked.

Gross Finds Value with Flopped Quads

Nível 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

"He just flops quads and gets paid," we heard someone over at Table 453 say. When we made our way over we discovered they were talking about Jeff Gross, who was holding the {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} on a {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} board.

We're not sure of the action, but we do know there was already 80,000 pulled into the middle and Gross was in for about 170,000 more. Bill Klein, whose holding remain unknown was counting out chips to pay off Gross. He seemed in good spirits all things considered.

Kuether Busts Kenney Just Before the Dinner Break

Nível 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Over the break you may have noticed that Joe Kuether suddenly had a lot of chips. That came courtesy of the hand right before dinner where he busted Bryn Kenney.

With 65,000 in the pot and a board reading {4-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}, Kenney checked and Kuether fired out 38,000. Kenney woke up with a check-raise to 103,500 and Kuether responded with an all-in three-bet, which is where we picked up the action.

As other players were shuffling out of the Amazon Room headed to their favorite eatery, Kenney sat quietly pondering what to do. A call would cost him the rest of his chips, and after a few minutes of deliberation, he decided to commit them.

"Full house," Kuether said confidently and tabled the {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Kenney mucked his cards, mumbled a bit and then headed off down the Rio hallways never to be seen in Event #47: $111,111 One Drop High Rollers No-Limit Hold'em again.
