Counterfeit Money

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
David Pham's Hand Was Caught Trying to Pass Counterfeit Money
David Pham's Hand Was Caught Trying to Pass Counterfeit Money

David Pham raised Jared Jaffee's led out bet of 15,000, making it 44,000 to play on the {6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop.

When the {10-Diamonds} hit the board on the turn, both players opted to tap the table, and the {10-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Two more checks brought the players to the showdown, and Jaffee rolled over the {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for two pair.

Pham winced when he saw the cards, and took one last look at his {6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} before tossing them into the muck. Pham had flopped two pair, but his hand was counterfeited on the river.

"I wanted to get it in on the turn," said Jaffee with a laugh. "That was a monster turn card for me."

"We get it in on flop," retorted Pham, his cryptic words having no impact on Jaffee as he stacked his newly acquired chips.

Garcia and Juanda Continue to Lock Horns

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

John Juanda and Myro Garcia continue to clash over on Table 445 and it is only a matter of time before one of them takes the other out.

Garcia opened to 10,000 from the button and both blinds called; John Juanda in the small blind and Goran Filipovic in the small blind. The trio watched on as the flop came down {4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, a flop that Juanda led for 18,500, folding out Filipovic, but Garcia called.

Juanda led again on the {10-Diamonds} turn, setting the price to continue at 28,000. Again, Garcia called him down. The final community card was the {A-Hearts} and Juanda almost immediately checked. Garcia's body language was that of a man who was about to bet, but he couldn't pull the trigger and he tapped behind.

Juanda showed {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Garcia mucked.

Jaime Rosen Busted by Jared Jaffee

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Jamie Rosen last hand began with an open to 10,000 from the button. Jared Jaffee reraised to 24,000 in defense of his big blind, and Rosen then ramped up the pressure with a 60,000 three-bet.

Rosen responded with an all-in declaration, and Jaffee quickly called the 235,000 bet with his {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. With {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} in the hole, Rosen was racing for his tournament life, but the {9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop was nothing but a dry well for his big slick. The {7-Diamonds} on the turn gave Jaffee a straight draw to solidify his lead, and the {10-Spades} on the river completed that straight, sending Rosen to the rail with a 15th place finish.

Juanda and Garcia Clash Again

Nível 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

John Juanda and Myro Garcia have continued to clash over on Table 445 and Juanda seems to have the measure of his foe.

Joining the action on a {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{A-Spades} flop, with Juanda in the big blind and Garcia on the button, Juanda tapped the table and checked to Garcia. A brief pause later and Garcia bet 9,000. Juanda thought it was a 10,000 bet but the dealer spread the chips and confirmed it was 9,000.

With that information processed, Juanda check-raised all in for 109,000 in total. Garcia smiled and said, "No" before folding his hand.

It won't be long before these players clash again.

DeGilio Deactivates Dandrea

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Mike DeGilio Has Claimed the Chip Lead Late on Day 2
Mike DeGilio Has Claimed the Chip Lead Late on Day 2

Riding a short stack, Raymond Dandrea got his last 84,000 into the middle holding {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, and when Michael DeGilio called him down, he was hoping to be in a coin flip situation.

Unfortunately for Dandrea, DeGilio held {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and the overpair put him in command going to the flop, which came {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Like the fabled tin man, Dandrea had no heart, and the flop put him even further behind with only one out left in the deck.

The turn came {3-Diamonds}, and Dandrea was down to a 2% shot at survival.

River: {6-Clubs}

Fifth street was just a long and lonely walk for Dandrea, and he hits the rail with a 16th place finish. DeGilio, meanwhile, moved into the chip lead with the win.
