A Walk in the Park

Nível 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

During the hand-for-hand segment of play used to burst the money bubble last night, Daniel Park was involved in a memorable hand against David "Dragon" Pham, one which showed that the young Park is not afraid to get his chips in the middle with an edge.

With every player in the room waiting anxiously for the next bustout, Pham moved all in on the {4-}{5-}{8-}{4-} board, but his {A-}{4-} was in bad shape against the {6-}{7-} held by Park. After flopping the nuts, Park gave Pham just enough rope to hang himself, and with a monster pot now created, both players waited for the river to decide their fate.

River: {A-}

Pham exploded in celebration after pairing his kicker and filing up, while Park could only shake his head as a large portion of his stack was pushed across the table. Despite this brutal beat, Park remained in good spirits, telling his friends on the rail that he still had enough chips to make a comeback.

Today, Park proved that premonition to be accurate, winning a key pot recently with a four-bet all in shove. We caught the action with Park's preflop raise to 7,800 having been reraised to 18,300 by Jonathan Jaffe. After a minute of contemplation, Park announced himself all in, and Jaffe's hand was quickly tossed into the muck.

Reynolds Wrapped

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

William Reynolds has been eliminated at the hands of Antonio Lafosse.

Reynolds opened to 2,000 from under the gun and Lafosse called in the small blind. Jon Turner raised to 5,600 from the big blind, only to see Reynolds four-bet to 11,400. The action was back on Lafosse and he moved all-in, folding out Turner, but Reynolds snap-called.

Reynolds: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Lafosse: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The final board read {5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts} improving Lafosse's ace-queen to a straight and sending Reynolds to the rail.

Perrins takes on Jaka

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

WSOP bracelet winner Matt Perrins opened to 2,000 from the button and Fara Jaka called from the big blind. The pair shared a {6-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs} flop, Jaka checking its arrival. Perrins continued with a 1,400 bet and Jaka called.

The turn brought the {9-Clubs} into play and when Jaka checked, Perrins checked behind. The fifth and final community card was the {5-Hearts} and Jaka checked once more. Perrins reached for chips and bet 4,400, which sent Jaka into the tank. He stayed there for almost 90 seconds before asking,

"Will you show if I throw these away? Show at least one of them?"

Perrins refused to answer and stared at the board. Jaka eventually mucked and Perrins did the same.

Yo-Yo Start for Juanda

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

John Juanda has had a real roller coaster start to the day that has seen him lose most of his stack only to double up to 53,000.

We caught the double up over on Table 445. The board read {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and after a furry of bets, raises and re-raises Juanda was all in with the {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} against te {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} of Myro Garcia. The turn and river were the {9-Diamonds} and {6-Hearts}, both players completing a flush, but Juanda winning with an ace-high flush.

Maria Maria

Maria Ho Here on Day 2
Maria Ho Here on Day 2

After Rodney Steven II moved all in for his last 20,000 or so, Maria Ho quickly announced herself all in as well.

Showdown:

Ho: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Steven II: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

"Wow," was all Steven II could say when he saw the bad news, and with his inferior pocket pair he knew he was in bad shape.

After the flop fell {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Steven II stood in anticipation of his imminent departure, still muttering "wow" to himself as the {k-Spades} dropped on the turn. When the {j-Spades} completed the board on the river, he told Ho "nice hand" before heading for the payout desk.

Ho built her stack up to nearly 80,000 with the win, but with chip leader Nick Schwarmann on her immediate left to start the day, she will have to pick her spots carefully.

Justin Young Has Doubled Up to Start Day 2
Justin Young Has Doubled Up to Start Day 2

Justin Young had his {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts} tabled against Maxine Conte's {A-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}, with the short-stacked Young all in, and the dealer prepared to burn and turn.

Flop: {5-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Young found a pair on the flop, and he took the lead against Conte's ace-high. On the {5-Spades} turn Young's position was solidified, and the {9-Clubs} river was a blank for Conte.

Young doubled up with his suited connector, while big slick left Conte crippled.

Two Early Pots for Stevenson

Nível 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

William Stevenson has had a good start to Day 2 after winning two consecutive pots.

The first we joined on the turn of a {2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{K-Spades} board where Craig McCorkell had checked from the small blind and Stevenson had bet 3,500 from the big blind. McCorkell called and the dealer completed the board with the [{10-Clubs}.

McCorkell checked and Stevenson made it 11,300 to play. McCorkell tanked for close to one minute, even removing his sunglasses at one point to try get a better look at his stoic opponent. McCorkell couldn't find anything that made him want to call and he mucked his hand.

The following hand, David Benefield opened to 2,000 on the button and once McCorkell folded Stevenson moved all-in or 21,000 effective. Benefield didn't want to play for stacks and he folded.
