Time to Award the First Open Bracelet of the Summer

The final table is set for Event #2: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em (Eight Handed), and leading the way by a very large margin is Trevor Pope. Pope was the only person to bag over a million chips, and will enter the final day with an astounding 3,420,000 chips. His closest competitors, David Vamplew and Jared Hamby, both bagged 629,000 chips.
Joining those three at the final table is World Series of Poker bracelet winner Dan Kelly. In 2010, Kelly won the $25,000 Six-Max event, earning a cool $1,315,518. He added another big score in 2012, when he finished third in the L.A. Poker Classic for $521,770.
Rounding out the final table are Jamie Armstrong, Brendon Meyers, David Peters, and Darryll Fish. All four of those players have terrific results both live and online, but they are all looking for that "breakthrough" moment on the live circuit.

Seat 8: Jared Hamby -- 629,000
Known as "TheWacoKidd" online, Jared Hamby has earned nearly $1.3 million on the virtual felt and over $1.5 million on the actual felt. Hamby has 14 World Series of Poker cashes, including a final table appearance in 2010. He finished eighth in a $1,000 event, taking home $46,077.
"Waco" is the only player over the age of 30 at the final table, and referred to himself on Twitter as a dinosaur.
Hamby hasn't cashed in a live event since August of 2012, where he finished 38th in the Legends of Poker, and is looking to start the 44th-annual WSOP with a bang.
Seat 7: Trevor Pope -- 3,420,000
Trevor Pope enters the final table with nearly half of the chips in play and roughly four times the average stack. Pope, a Wisconsin native, has five previous World Series of Poker cashes, including a seventh-place finish in a $2,500 Pot-Limit Omaha event in 2010. He earned $41,850 for his efforts, and it is the third-largest score of his career.
The largest score of Pope's career came in 2012 when he made the final table of the WPT $25,000 World Championship at the Bellagio. Pope busted in sixth, earning him $155,571, and can top that score today with a third-place finish or better.
With such a large stack, however, Pope will not be aiming for third place, he'll be targeting the win and what would be his first career WSOP gold bracelet.
Seat 6: David Peters -- 435,000
David Peters, 26, is a professional poker player from Toledo, Ohio. A member of Team Ivey, Peters has over $3.2 million in online tournament earnings and over $2.7 million in live tournament earnings.
This is his 21st cash at the World Series of Poker. In 2010, Peters finished runner-up in a $1,000 buy-in event, earning $350,803. It is the largest score of his career, which is filled with close calls and near misses in major events.
Peters does have five live wins, however, including a gold ring in 2008, two wins at Festa al lago, and a Main Event victory on the HPT.
Team Ivey already has a bracelet this year with Phil himself winning one down under, and Peters could bring a second to the team with a win today.
Seat 5: Darryll Fish -- 432,000
Darryll Fish, 27, is a professional poker player from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Known as "DFish" online, Fish has accrued more than $1.7 million in online earnings to go along with the $1 million he's earned playing live poker. Fish recently finished third in the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open, earning $125,921. It was his first six-figure score since February of 2011.
In 2011, Fish finished sixth in the L.A. Poker Classic, earning $235,350, then went on to cash in four World Series of Poker events that summer. In total, Fish has 17 WSOP cashes, including this event.
This will be Fish's second career WSOP final table. In 2011, he finished ninth in the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em World Championship, banking $77,136.
Seat 4: Brandon Meyers -- 595,000
Brandon Meyers is a professional poker player originally from Henderson, Nevada. A husband and a proud father of two boys, Meyers has over $800,000 in live tournament earnings, including a runner-up finish in the L.A. Poker Classic High Roller this year for $172,915, and just shy of $3.5 million in online tournament earnings playing mostly under the handles "oncommand" and "norajean."
After Black Friday, Meyers relocated his family to beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in order to continue pursuing his career. He is now back in Sin City, looking for his first ever World Series of Poker gold bracelet in his second appearance at a WSOP final table.
Seat 3: Dan Kelly -- 625,000
Dan Kelly, 24, is a professional poker player from Potomac, Maryland. Kelly is the only player at the final table with a World Series of Poker bracelet already in hand, winning the $25,000 Six-Handed World Championship in 2010 for $1,315,518. He was 21 at the time.
Kelly has over $2.3 million in live tournament earnings and nearly $6 million in online earnings. This is Kelly's 14th cash at the WSOP, and his fourth final table. Kelly made a second final table in 2010, finishing sixth in a $1,500 shootout, and last year he finished 8th in the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. World Championship.
With a win, Kelly would join a group of elite players with multiple bracelets and inch very close to $3 million in live tournament earnings.
Seat 2: Jamie Armstrong -- 451,000
Jamie Armstrong, 27, is a professional poker player from Laguna Beach, California. Known as "pokerjamers" online, Armstrong has accrued more than $4.1 million in online tournament earnings.
This marks his fifth career World Series of Poker cash. His biggest came in 2012 in a $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em event, where he finished in 2nd place out of 2,799 entrants for $273,776,
Armstrong already has a 2013 victory under his belt, winning a $550 No-Limit Hold'em event at the L.A. Poker Classic for $61,560.
Seat 1: David Vamplew -- 629,000
David Vamplew, 25, is a professional poker player from Edinburgh, Scotland.
Today marks Vamplew's second career World Series of Poker final table and his seventh cash. In 2011, he took fourth place out of 1,920 entrants in a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event for $141,030.
A fixture on the tournament circuit across Europe, Vamplew won EPT London in 2010 for more than $1.4 million. He also boasts more than $1.28 million on the virtual felt under the handles "davidv1213" and "sluggy27."
