Mackey Takes Five-Bet Pot

Nível 16
James Mackey has plenty of chips.
James Mackey has plenty of chips.

Hold'em

Online legend James "mig.com" Mackey, Avinash Kataria and one other player each put in five bets before the flop, according to a player at the table.

We found Mackey betting the turn with the board reading {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}. His opponent raised, and Mackey came back over the top for three bets. Kataria tanked before folding, saying he couldn't believe what he was laying down.

Mackey continues to surge upward in the chip counts, while Kataria busted a couple of hands later when an opponent turned trip eights with {10-}{8-} against Kataria's {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}.

Straight for Kalro

Nível 16

Hold'em

On the turn, the board read {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Gaurav Kalro checked to David Bach, who bet out. Kalro called. The river was the {8-Diamonds}, and this time Kalro bet out. Bach hesitated, clearly not happy with this turn of events, but he eventually called, and Kalro showed {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for a rivered straight.

Kalro has been quietly building his stack all day, and now has 165,000 in front of him.

Idema Bests Singer

Nível 16

Hold'em

David Singer, who has been quietly amassing a lot of chips, just took a hit to his stack. We came to the action on the turn, with the board showing {5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Daniel Idema bet, Singer raised, and Idema three-bet. Singer called, and the two players saw a {5-Spades} on the river. Idema bet out again, and Singer went into the tank. After a couple minutes, he elected to fold.

As Idema slid his cards back to the dealer, he claimed he had {7-}{7-} for sevens full. Singer may have lost the pot, but he saved a bet on the end.

"Coolest Razz Hand" Develops at Table 442

Nível 16

Razz

An amusing and intriguing Razz hand just occurred at Table 442, where every single player was dealt paint as their up card. Tyson Marks, in first position, completed with a {j-Diamonds}, and was called by a player with a queen and David Bach from the bring-in.

"You're gonna play the queen?" Marks asked.

"Yep, I'm gonna rock and roll," his opponent said.

Marks kept the lead until sixth, when he paired, while his opponent caught good.

Marks: {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Opponent: {q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Marks called, and then bet seventh street. His opponent called. Marks showed {a-}{2-}{4-} for a six-low, while his opponent had {2-}{4-}{x-} for a nine-seven.

"That was the coolest Razz hand I've ever played," Marks said as he took the pot.

Heimiller Takes Chips from "The King"

Nível 16

Stud

Dan Heimiller continues to build an impressive stack. We came upon a recent hand on fourth street, as Michael "MJ the King" Cooper bet out showing {a-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Andrey Zaichenko, Dan Heimiller and Dan Kelly all called. Heimiller paired his board on fifth street, now showing {4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. He bet out, Kelly folded, Cooper called, and Zaichenko folded. Heimiller and Cooper took sixth street heads up. Heimiller bet again, and then again on seventh street, with Cooper calling both times.

Showdown:
Dan Heimiller: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}/{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Michael Cooper: {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{q-}/{a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Heimiller announced, half-jokingly, as he turned his cards over, "Three pair beats two pair." More importantly for Heimiller, though, two pair beats one pair. Heimiller held two pair, tens and fives, with an extraneous pair of fours. His two pair was enough to beat Cooper's pair of aces.

"Six Badugi" Wins

Nível 15

Razz

Sam Grizzle, with {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}, and Rep Porter, with {2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, were in a raised pot on fifth street when Grizzle bet and Porter called. Both players caught bad on sixth, Grizzle with a pair and Porter with a king, so they both checked. Porter bet seventh street, and Grizzle made the call.

"I have a six-badugi and a seven-low," Porter announced, turning over {7-}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Grizzle mucked his cards.
