Aces Good for MJ

Nível 18

Omaha Eight or Better

With the board showing {2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Michael "MJ the Great" Cooper bet the turn blind. The dealer revealed the {9-Diamonds}, and Andrey Zaichenko called. Cooper bet out again when the {j-Spades} hit the felt on the river, and Zaichenko again called. Cooper confidently turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for only a pair of aces. His confidence was justified, however, as Zaichenko mucked his cards with a look of frustration.

"Nice Six-Four Off"

Nível 17

Hold'em

Jon Seaman, in the big blind, called a raise from the player on the button.

Seaman check-raised after a flop of {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. His opponent made the call. The turn came {2-Spades}, and Seaman fired again. His opponent again called. Both players checked the {10-Hearts} river.

Seaman: {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

"I can't beat these guys man," Seaman's opponent said. "Nice six-four off."

Day 1 chipleader Seaman appears to have had a fairly quiet day overall, not being involved in too many pots we've taken note of, and his stack has stayed relatively consistent.

Plenty of Extras Being Given Away at This Year's WSOP

Nível 17

The buzz inside the walls of the Rio extends beyond just the tournaments on the 2013 World Series of Poker schedule. Online poker in Nevada is a very, very hot topic right now, and WSOP.com is making a lot of noise.

While the site has yet to launch, you can head to the Lambada Room of the Rio or look for one of the beautiful and friendly WSOP.com ladies walking the hallways to sign up for a free, personal WSOP.com online poker account. This is a great way to get a jump on the site's registration, and plenty of people have already taken this opportunity.

What's more is that the WSOP will be hosting daily raffles for everyone that has taken the time to register for WSOP.com at the Rio. What can you win? Plenty of fantastic prizes including 36 WSOP seats!

Players 21 years of age and older who sign up for a WSOP.com account will automatically be entered into the “36-Seat Giveaway” where a randomly-selected winner will win a seat into the next day’s first WSOP gold bracelet event. One of the events eligible in this promotion is the $111,111 One Drop High Roller No-Limit Hold’em tournament that is expected to feature a $10,000,000 prize pool and allow you to play poker with the biggest names in the game. In total, $182,333 in WSOP seats, including a seat to the WSOP Main Event, are being given away during this one-of-a-kind WSOP.com promotion.

In addition to the 36-Seat Giveaway, a “Hot Seat” promotion will allow any player who signs up for a WSOP.com online account and wears their WSOP.com patch on their chest at the table while playing an event to be randomly selected to receive 500 bonus dollars deposited directly into their WSOP.com online account once the site has received all regulatory approvals and launches.

With 62 WSOP gold bracelet events and three winners promised for the Main Event, this promotion includes $32,000 worth of value to those participating.

Schneider Scoops

Nível 17

Omaha Eight or Better

Tom Schneider is making another run up the leaderboard.

On a flop of {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Hearts} Randy Ohel check-called Tom Schneider's bet, and did so again on the {2-Diamonds} turn. The river was the {3-Diamonds}, and both players checked. Ohel showed {j-}{j-}{10-}{10-} for a pair of jacks and no low, but Schneider revealed {6-}{a-}{9-}{2-} for a two-pair high and 8-6 low.

Schneider scooped the pot and is now up to 215,000 in chips.

Kelly Scoops Idema

Nível 17

Stud Eight or Better

Daniel Idema, showing {7-Spades} raised Dan Kelly's bring-in on third street, and Kelly {3-Clubs} called. Idema paired his seven on fourth street and led out, and Kelly {6-Diamonds} called again. Idema received the {a-Clubs} on fifth street and again led out, but this time Kelly raised after being dealt the {4-Diamonds}. Idema called, then checked his {8-Spades} on sixth street. Kelly bet with his {5-Clubs}, and Idema called. On the river, Idema again called Kelly's bet, then asked his opponent, "Straight?" Kelly nodded and showed {5-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}/{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for an eight high straight and a 7-6 low, good enough to win both high and low.

Spadavecchia Takes it Without Showdown

Nível 17

Stud

Andreas Krause bet into John Spadavecchia and one other player on sixth street of a recent stud hand at Table 354. Both players called.

Spadavecchia: {j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Krause: {7-Hearts}{j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Other Player: {q-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Spadavecchia bet bet seventh street, and both opponents folded.

Meanwhile, Sam Grizzle was just eliminated at the neighboring table, though we didn't see how it happened.

"You Have a Very Good Hand"

Nível 17

On fourth street, Ron Fast's board was {5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Eddie Blumenthal's was {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. The two players got into a raising war until Fast was all-in. Fast turned over {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for a four-flush, and Blumenthal told him, "You have a very good hand." Blumenthal was correct, as Fast made his flush on sixth street and doubled up.
