Saeed Bests Kornuth Again

Omar Saeed started the action by raising to 26,000 from early position. Korntuh called from middle position, and Daniel Negreanu also came along in the big blind. The dealer fanned out a flop of {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}, and Negreanu checked to Saeed, who fired out 47,000. Kornuth called, but Negreanu got out of the way. The turn was the {q-Spades}, and Saeed led out again for 78,000 Kornuth called that, and the river came the{6-Hearts}.

Saeed kept his foot on the gas, firing out a third barrell of 118,000. Kornuth tanked for about a minute before giving his hand up, and Saeed took another nice sized pot off of Kornuth. Saeed jumped up to 969,000 after the hand, while Kornuth fell to 953,000.

The Monkey Climbs Back

Tomas Samol opened with a raise to 25,000 from the hijack seat, and A.P. Phahurat called from one seat over. Then Will "The Monkey" Souther reraised all in from the button for 189,000 total. The blinds and Samol got out, and Phahurat took about a half-minute before tossing out the calling chips.

Phahurat: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Souther: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

Souther sat up straight in his seat as if bracing himself for the flop. The dealer burned a card and spread the first three — {4-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}. "Yeah, Monkey!" said one of Souther's supporters on the rail, and he stood up from his chair. The turn then brought the {A-Clubs}.

"Just quads? All right," said Souther, using understatement, then sat back down as the meaningless {6-Diamonds} came on the river.

Salaburu Vaults Into the Chip Lead

We just saw a three-way all-in hand develop that saw both Gjorgji Chuchuk and Tom Tran end up all in, for 100,000 and 325,000 respectively, before the flop and were at risk against Robert Salaburu.

Showdown

Salaburu{A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Chuchuk{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Tran{K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

Tran was out in front with his kings, while Chuchuk was in major need of a nine. The {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop made things interesting as it delivered Salaburu a flush draw, but the {J-Diamonds} turn didn't change much. "Jack," Tran said, trying to will the board to pair. Impressively, the river was a jack, but unfortunately for both Tran and Chuchuk, it was the {J-Clubs} to give Salaburu the flush and the double elimination.
