Earlier today, Doyle Brunson shocked the poker world by tweeting that he would not be taking part in today's World Series of Poker Main Event. Eventually he came to his senses though and it's a good thing he did, because he has managed to accumulate quite the healthy stack late into Day 1c.
TexDolly Doyle BrunsonI'm not playing the main event because I'm really tired after 6 weeks of tough cash games, playing 10-12 hours every single day. Sorry.July 08 2012

Two players no longer in their seats are Annette Obrestad and Rupert Elder, it appears they both have been eliminated. Elder just tweeted this, and it appears both players will have to wait until next year.

Joseph Cheong raised to 1,000 from middle position. Big stack Brandon Adams called from the cutoff and the rest of the table folded.
The flop fell and Cheong continued with a 1,475 bet. Adams called and the turned. Cheong fired another bullet making it 3,500 to go. Once again he received a call from Adams.
The board completed with a second pair in the form of the . Cheong moved all in for his last 16,500. Adams dipped into his stack and came out with a call.
Cheong tabled and Adam looked at his cards one last time, hoping that they would be able to beat the pocket jacks. Alas, they did not, and he meekly pushed them to the muck.
Adams' massive lost some but is still sitting at a sizable 115,000. Cheong's double put him at 41,000.
Just moments after that last hand Cheong tweeted that he was able to double up again:

Randy Lew has had an extremely impressive World Series of Poker so far. Boasting five cashes, and over $75,000 in winnings thus far Lew is more than ready to take down the big one. Lew came out of the gates today in the Main Event and never looked back.
Lew seems to have had a little setback though, recently we caught up with him calling from his big blind after an opponent in the hijack raised it up to 750. The flop came and both players checked.
The on the turn saw Lew fire out a bet of 600. The hijack called and both players went to the river. The saw Lew check and his opponent bet out 1,700. Lew threw it away and sits with around 60,000 in chips.
It seems Lew has had a bit of a set back, 60,000 is a plenty healthy stack, but he tweeted this before the dinner break.
nanonoko Randy LewDinner break is over. For those dedicated enough to try and count my stack seems like I have 101,275. Blinds are 150/300/25aJuly 09 2012
Plenty of day left for Lew to build it back up. We will be on the look out for all Nanonoko happenings.
The 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event champion has been eliminated by 2009 WSOP bracelet winner Anthony Harb. According to the table, Duhamel was all in with agains the of Harb. The board ran out , sending Duhamel to the rail.

We quickly checked in on some of the players representing Onnit in today's field and stumbled upon Miltiadis Kyriakides' table on a flop of . Kyriakides had just checked from the big blind and allowed his early-position opponent to bet 1,650. Kyriakides made the call after a middle-position player had folded, and it was heads-up to the turn.
Both players checked, as they did on the river, and the early-position player said, "King high." Kyriakides then rolled over to take down the small pot.
On the other end of the room, Kevin Boudreau raised to 850 from the hijack and only picked up one called, the big blind. The latter checked the flop, opening the door for Boudreau to bet 900. It proved enough as the big blind nonchalantly tossed his cards to the dealer.
Meanwhile, Cherish Andrews has been eliminated from the tournament.
