PhilGalfond Phil GalfondIf I were the kind of guy who liked to brag and try to console myself simultaneously, I'd say, "Was only all-in once the whole tourney."July 13 2012
The average chip stack is currently 229,000 and Terrence Chan just pointed out something interesting about his stacked table that features the likes of him, Ari Engel and JC Tran.
tchanpoker Terrence ChanWe just realized that at our table, I'm the only player above average. Avg is 229k. I have 232k. #WSOPME #nitsJuly 12 2012
Perhaps things will change for the players of Table 12 here in the Brasilia room, as they have just now been broken and spread throughout the Amazon and Brasilia Rooms.
We caught up with the action to see three players looking down at a board of and over 70,000 chips already in the pot.
The small blind checked and Vanessa Selbst checked as well. The third player fired out a bet of 50,000 and the small blind got out of the way. Action was now on Selbst and she sat riffling chips and staring at the board.
Selbst announced that she was all in and her opponent announced a call at lightning speed, tabling for a flopped set. Selbst tabled for a flush draw and a gutshot. When Selbst saw her opponent's hand, she stood up from the table and grabbed her bag.
"I might be the worst of all time," Selbst said. "Good game guys."
The ESPN camera crews rushed over and every person walking by the rail stopped to see what all of the commotion was about.
"Nice call, man," Selbst said to her opponent while she waited to learn her fate.
Finally, the dealer pounded the table and flipped over the river card.
The .
Selbst's opponent shot up from his seat and walked to his supporters on the rail while Selbst let out a heavy sigh and sat back down in her chair. Selbst's opponent sat back down in time to watch a vast majority of his stack moved across the table toward Selbst. The two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner is now sitting on a stack of 540,000.
Selbst would immediately take to Twitter to inform her followers of her huge double up:

Just 15 minutes ago we brought you the action from a hand that saw Sean Rice cripple Eugene Katchalov. We just noticed that Katchalov's seat was empty and that Rice had even more chips. We took to twitter to investigate and found that Katchalov had tweeted about the hand where he was crippled and then tweeted the following.

According to his Twitter feed, Negreanu tangled with Chris Moore again and was bested after Moore made a straight against Negreanu's top two pair.
RealKidPoker Daniel Negreanu@DNChips WTF. AQ vs J9 flop AQ5 rainbow I lose. Comes 8 T so gross down to 94k. Same guy who flopped set made the straight on meJuly 12 2012
We caught up with the action on a flop, where Daniel Negreanu was in a pot against two other players.
Negreanu fired 8,200 from early position and was called by the player directly behind him and Chris Moore in middle position.
The turn brought the and it was checked to Moore, who fired 18,000 into the middle. Negreanu flatted, as did the player behind him.
It was checked to Moore again on the river and he fired 50,000 into the middle - sending a wave of disgust through Negreanu.
Negreanu sighed deeply and shook his head - clearly distraught about his decision. After a little thought, Negreanu folded his hand. Moore's remaining opponent also folded after tanking for a bit.
The camera crew for ESPN then asked Negreanu, who was recently moved to an outer table, to pull his hand back to show the camera to be used for Main Event footage. (Hands captured on outer tables use a small, portable camera to capture hole-card footage.)
"It's f***ing aces," Negreanu said. "I don't want to waste time with the T.V. stuff - just show my hand."
Negreanu's already-mucked hand was then revealed to be, in fact, pocket aces.

Negreanu slipped down to 160,000 as a result of the hand.
