Following an early position raise, Guillaume Rager called and Gaëlle Baumann called in the big blind.
The flop came K♣6♠10♣ and action checked to Rager, who bet out for 15,000. Baumann moved all in for 33,000 and Rager made the call. Players flipped their cards, with Baumann at risk.
Gaëlle Baumann: J♠10♥
Guillaume Rager: K♦Q♠
Rager had top pair with his pair of kings. Baumann had middle pair and was drawing thin to catch up. The turn came the 10♠ to give Baumann trip tens.
The river was a blank, the 9♠, meaning Baumann held for the double up.
Anas Tadini raised to 8,000 and picked up a call before Rudy Moreno moved all in for 49,000. Tadini made the call and the other player got out of the way. Two players flipped their cards, with Moreno at risk.
Rudy Moreno: J♦J♥
Anas Tadini: K♥9♥
Moreno was well ahead preflop with his pocket jacks and the board ran out 3♠5♦J♣10♠9♣ to give him a set of jacks on the flop. Tadini was calling out for his backdoor straight as the river fell, but ultimately it was Moreno who claimed the pot for the double up.
Players, media and spectators gathered round as the official bubble hands were played out. Over on one table, Anas Tadini was all in for 120,000 and was called by Mehdi Lebbadi-Breteau, who had a much bigger stack.
Anas Tadini: 6♦4♠
Mehdi Lebbadi-Breteau: A♣Q♣
It looked like Tadini would be eliminated, but the board ran out J♥2♠2♥4♥5♣. That gave Lebbadi-Breteau a pair of fours on the turn, which was enough for him to double up and survive to make Day 2.
Over on the other table, Mohamed Ali Houssam was all in with a short stack and was called by Javier Tsunamy in the big blind.
Mohamed Ali Houssam: 3♣2♣
Javier Tsunamy: 9♦2♦
The board ran out Q♦2♥5♣10♣8♦ to give both players a pair of deuces. Tsunamy's nine kicker played, meaning Houssam was eliminated on the stone cold bubble.
Tsunamy, meanwhile, finishes Day 1a as the chip leader and will return with a decent opportunity to make a run of it on Day 2.
Day 1a of the €500 (5,500 Dirham) Winamax SISMIX Main Event, running at the Casino de Marrakech in the El Saadi Resort, has now concluded.
There were a total of 421 entrants on Day 1a. Of those, 71 made it through to Day 2 and into the money.
Javier Tsunamy is the end of day chip leader with 1,000,000 chips. Tsunamy climbed through the ranks as the day progressed and was responsible for busting Mohamed Ali Houssam on the bubble of the tournament. Whatever happens in the remaining flights, Tsunamy will return as a serious contender on Day 2.
Mehdi Lebbadi-Breteau finished Day 1a close behind in second place with 950,000 chips. He has only a few recorded live cashes to his name and so is well positioned to pick up his biggest ever cash when he returns to the felt.
In third place is Winamax pro Pierre Calamusa with 750,000 chips. In fourth place is another Winamax pro, Davidi Kitai, who bagged 680,000 chips. Abderrahim Ineflas rounds out the top five with 665,000 chips.
