Dia 1b Concluído
Another exciting day has come to an end at the 2025 LA Poker Classic, with the second and final flight of the $10,000 LAPC Main Event sorting out the contenders ahead of Day 2.
Another 65 entrants took their shot at The Commerce Casino & Hotel, with just 41 runners finding a bag at the end of six levels. They will now join the 26 players from Day 1a to hunt for the money on Monday.
With registration still open into Day 2, the prize pool has already climbed over $1,000,000 in this prestigious tournament.
Sitting on top of the Day 1b chip counts is Martin Carnero, who finished with 367,000 to also claim the overall chip lead. Carnero stayed late into the last break of the night to make a big call with pocket kings and take a monster pot away from Won Lim.
The only other player to top the 200,000 chip mark was Adam Weinraub, who collected most of his 286,000 stack after stunning Vlastimil Pustina in the final level by going runner-runner to score the knockout.
Rounding out the top five is WSOP bracelet winner Frank Brannan, who will return with 170 big blinds on Monday.

Bill Klein turned top two pair against David Pock midway through the day, finishing the night with 47,500 after failing to bag on Day 1a.
Dan Heimiller also took a second shot at building a stack, but the third try was a charm as he won a satellite seat after exiting Day 1b.
Other notables who weren't so fortunate included Commerce Poker Pro Team member Luke Nguyen and Farid Jattin. Barry Woods took his seat to begin the day, but only lasted until Level 2 when Adam Nudo (30,300) won a flip.

Players have completed the final five hands of the night and bags are out for the 41 remaining entrants.
Action will resume on Day 2 at 12:00 p.m. local time. Stay tuned for full chip counts and a recap of the day.
The floor director has announced that five more hands will be played tonight as the clock is paused with 10:00 remaining.
Francisco Lopez opened to 1,800 in early position, finding calls from Gevork Kasabyan in middle position and recent entrant Matthew Salsberg on the button.
Lopez led out for 3,100 on the 9♠3♦8♣ flop, with Kasabyan folding before Salsberg called.
The 10♣ turn saw Lopez lead again for 10,000. That was enough to earn the pot as Salsberg tossed his cards into the muck.

David Pock limped from under the gun before Cecile Ticherfatine raised on the button. Pock then moved his short stack all in and Ticherfatine quickly called.
David Pock: 9♠9♦
Cecile Ticherfatine: A♦Q♦
Ticherfatine was flipping and found a set of queens on the Q♣Q♠7♦. Pock then spiked a full house by hitting the 9♣ turn, holding through the J♠ river to earn the unlikely double up.

Back in September, the $1,200 Main Event at The Commerce Casino Hold’em Series saw 517 entrants generate a prize pool of $542,850. Day 2 started with 51 players and ended in a three-way ICM chop with Sungmin Cho taking home the championship trophy and the top prize of $87,315.
At the time of the ICM chop, Cho from Seoul, South Korea, was the chip leader and was crowned the champion of the tournament. Cho was celebrating his honeymoon with his new wife in Los Angeles at The Commerce Casino. After being unable to play poker for the last six months, his wife agreed to let him enter a tournament while on their honeymoon. He seized that opportunity and emerged with the Day 1b chip lead. Near the money bubble, he remarked, “I’m just really having fun; I haven’t played a tournament in so long.” The fun didn’t stop as he cruised through Day 2, and by the time of the ICM chop, he held 9,800,000 of the 20,680,000 chips in play and was named the champion of the $1,200 Main Event.

Vlastimil Pustina opened to 1,800 from under the gun and found two callers in middle position. Adam Weinraub then three-bet to 10,000 from the small blind and Pustina replied by moving all in.
Two middle position folds led to Weinraub calling the all in, and the hands were turned up.
Vlastimil Pustina: A♥K♣
Adam Weinraub: A♠K♦
Both players tabled the same hand and the 7♦9♦A♣ flop changed nothing. The 10♦ elicited a reaction from the table as Weinraub picked up a diamond draw.
The dealer then turned over the 8♦ river, producing screams from the players as Weinraub completed his flush to knock out Pustina.
