Finland's Sami "Lrslzk" Kelopuro, Dante "dantegoyaF" Goya of Brazil and Ka Kwan "kaju85" Lau of Hong Kong are among the 35 players left standing at the end of Day 1 in the WCOOP-92-H: $10,300 PLO [6-Max, PLO Main Event] as part of the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP). The three-day tournament had a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million but already surpassed that at the end of Day 1, with 126 entrants and a prize pool of $1.3 million.

"yara777" of Ukraine walked away from Day 1 as the tournament chip leader with a stack of 2.3 million, followed closely by "Grus/Snus" of Sweden and "#Naktro91" of Andorra. Other players who made it through the first seven hours of action on Day 1 include "Ben_Apart" of the United Kingdom, Alexey "LuckyGump" Makarov of Russia and Brazil's Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski, who is fresh off of two WCOOP victories yesterday.

PokerStars ambassador Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis, who took second yesterday in the WCOOP-80-H: $10,300 NLHE [8-Max, Progressive KO, High Roller] for his biggest-ever MTT cash of $172,793, was also in the field but did make it to the end of Day 1.

Day 2 will commence on Sept. 13 at 5:10 p.m. GMT and will break when there are seven players remaining. Those players will return for Day 3 on Sept. 14 at 5:05 p.m. GMT.

Late registration will remain open until the beginning of Day 2. Only 14 places will be paid if there are less than 132 entrants in the tournament.

That wraps up Day 1 coverage of the WCOOP-92-H: $10,300 PLO [6-Max, PLO Main Event]. The PokerNews live reporting team will be back tomorrow to bring you Day 2 updates.

Top 15 Stacks at End of Day 1

Nível 15 : 5,000/10,000, 1,250 ante

Flop Check-Raise from "Imbajimbaa"

Nível 15 : 5,000/10,000, 1,250 ante

"Imbajimbaa" opened to 28,750 in the lojack and Christian "WATnlos" Rudolph flat-called on the button, while "AlexKP" defended in the big blind. "Imbajimbaa" then check-raised to 181,250 on the {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop when Rudolph bet 30,000. Rudolph folded and "AlexKP" had already gotten out of the way.

Goya Applies Pressure

Nível 15 : 5,000/10,000, 1,250 ante

"magiet12" opened 27,000 on the button and Dante "dantegoyaF" Goya called in the small blind. Goya then check-raised to 62,700 on the {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop and "magiet12" called. Goya bet 124,200 on the {9-Hearts} turn and "magiet12" again called. On the {3-Spades} river, Goya bet enough to put his opponent all-in and they laid it down.

"jedimaster82" Eliminated by "cmontopdeck"

Nível 15 : 5,000/10,000, 1,250 ante

"jedimaster82" three-bet to 110,000 in the small blind and "cmontopdeck" called after flatting a raise on the button. "jedimaster82" shoved a stack of 54,146 on the {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop and "cmontopdeck" called.

"jedimaster82": {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{4-Spades}
"cmontopdeck": {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

"cmontopdeck" flopped the nuts and held as the board ran out {k-Spades}{q-Spades}, sending "jedimaster82" to the rail on their third bullet.

Flush Good for Kelopuro

Nível 15 : 5,000/10,000, 1,250 ante

Sami "Lrslzk" Kelopuro opened to 35,000 in the cutoff and Ka Kwan "kaju85" Lau defended in the big blind. Lau check-called for 60,000 on the {6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop and both players checked the {7-Diamonds} turn. Lau check-raised to 586,950 on the {3-Hearts} river and Kelopuro put in a call.

Lau showed a straight with {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} but it was no good against the flush of Kelopuro, who held {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.
