Speiser and Silver Done and Dusted

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Hannes Speiser lost all but five big blinds with pocket queens against the pocket aces of Emil Patel and the remaining chips were gone soon after.

Max Silver was left very short after a hand with [Removed:17] and had fewer than two big blinds left in the small blind. Alain Goldberg then raised to 11,000 and Silver called all in for 8,000, Yan also called. The two remaining active players checked down the board {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. Yan mucked as Goldberg showed {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, and Silver could only reveal {10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

Sam Greenwood Eliminated

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Down to 69,000, Sam Greenwood moved all in from the hijack and Thomas Muehloecker in the cutoff reraised all in to chase everyone else behind them out of the way.

Thomas Muehloecker: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Sam Greenwood: {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The board came {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and the kicker played to send Greenwood to the rail, reducing the field to the last 36 hopefuls. Only the top 27 spots will get paid and the money bubble is expected to burst tonight still.

Mercier Runs Jacks Into Queens

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Julian Thomas opened the action with a raise to 10,000 and John Juanda called from one seat over in the hijack. Jason Mercier in the cutoff moved all in for 89,500 and Thomas asked for a count, then moved all in over the top. Juanda briefly flashed his cards and mucked and Mercier was at risk with the inferior pocket pair.

Julian Thomas: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Jason Mercier: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}

The flush outs were also a mere threat, as only a straight flush would have helped in that case. Instead, the board came {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Mercier was also sent to the rail only minutes after Daniel Negreanu bowed out.

Yurasov Takes Down Negreanu

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Dmitry Yurasov has claimed another victim and this time, it was none other than Daniel Negreanu who fell to the Russian prodigy. Negreanu had opened to 9,000 in early position and Yurasov three-bet to 32,000 from the big blind. Negreanu went all in and Yurasov called directly to put Negreanu at risk.

Daniel Negreanu: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Dmitry Yurasov: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Negreanu was in dire straits and failed to catch help on a {2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades} board.

"Good luck," the Team PokerStars Pro said while making his exit.

Thomas Shoves Into Plesuv

Nível 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

On a heads-up flop of {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, Julian Thomas checked out of the small blind and Pavel Plesuv bet 16,000. Thomas check-raised to 55,000 and Plesuv called. Both checked the {J-Hearts} on the turn and Thomas then shoved the {J-Diamonds} river. Plesuv had around 180,000 left and eventually folded.

Adrian Mateos said "show the bluff!" then settled for just one card, pointing at the right one. Thomas replied "wait, I have to check that one," and then turned it over - it was the {Q-Hearts}, and the table jokingly booed.

Kurganov Sends Bonomo to the Rail

Nível 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

While Daniel Negreanu has been struggling, another PokerStars Team Pro is thriving after the dinner break. Igor Kurganov more than doubled and just now knocked out Justin Bonomo.

Aliaksei Boika raised to 8,000 and Bonomo shoved for 69,500 from the cutoff. Kurganov reshoved out of the big blind and Boika folded.

Justin Bonomo: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Igor Kurganov: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board came {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and that was it for Bonomo.

Jacks for Sanioglu

Nível 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Martin Jacobson raised to 8,000 in middle position, Dmitry Yurasov three-bet to 20,700 from the cutoff, Ekrem Sanioglu cold-called on the button and Jacobson called as well.

The flop was a slots player's dream: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Jacobson and Yurasov checked to Sanioglu, who fired a hefty 85,000. Both pro's quickly folded and Sanioglu showed {J-}{J-}.

The Social Experiment

Nível 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The Commerce Casino in LA has recently been running a social experiment to get players to chat more at the tables, by banning items such a phones and other electronics, as well as hoodies and sunglasses. We decided to find out what our poker players at the PokerStars Championship presented by Monte-Carlo Casino® thought of the idea.
