Albert Paik

The pot was about 15,000 and the flop was on the table reading {3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{j-Hearts}. Ryan Yu checked and Albert Paik bet 6,000. Yu raised 19,000 and Paik called.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and Yu led out for 19,000. Paik called, going to a river of {7-Spades}. Yu bet again, making it 50,000. Paik quickly called.

"King-high," Yu said, sliding his cards in the muck without showing them.

"Do I have to show?" Paik asked, but collected the huge pot without revealing his hand.

"Everyone keeps trying to bluff you," another player laughed at the table.

Luo Bubbles; Remaining Players in the Money!

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Daniel Mcaulay bursts the bubble

Two tables remained in the latest hand during hand-for-hand play, as one player found a fold on an outer table, all eyes shifted to Table 1 where Xiao Luo had called a jam from Daniel McAulay on the turn, putting himself at risk.

The hand started out with Luo opening to 9,000, McAulay three-betting to 28,000, and Luo making the call. The flop came {10-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Luo check-called a bet of 25,000 from McAulay.

The {5-Spades} fell on the turn. Luo checked and McAulay shoved all-in. Luo made the call.

The two had to wait several minutes before revealing their holdings but, finally, their hands were tabled.

McAulay: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Luo: {q-Spades}{k-Spades}

Luo wasn't in bad shape, needing any king, queen, or spade to stay alive. The crowd gathered around and a collective cheer rang out as the {8-Diamonds} appeared on the river.

With the hand, McAulay is now the overall chip leader in the room.

The remaining 103 players are now in the money, guaranteed at least HK$62,500.

Xu Makes Sick Hero Call on Soulier

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Zinan Xu

We approached the table as the field was heading on break to see a bet of 89,000 sitting in front of Fabrice Soulier.

Action was on Soulier's heads-up opponent, Zinan Xu. Xu looked down at a {j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} board and roughly 200,000 already in the pot.

After a few moments, Soulier asked for the clock, and once the floor staff arrived, they decided to give Xu and an extra moment as the pot was monstrous. A minute went by and the floor staff began a 60-second countdown.

About half way through, Xu gathered up a call and slapped it down. Soulier tabled {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a busted flush draw and Xu turned over {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, a pair of twos.

Which was good and warranted several wows and praises from spectators who paused to catch the action.

The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Hata pushed all in. Burns snap-called and then mucked when he saw Hata turn over {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a flush.

With a board of {7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{4-Spades}, David Peters fired out a bet of 73,000 on the button and Ro Woong Park check-called from the small blind.

The {10-Spades} completed the board on the river and Park checked once more. This time Peters used both hands to slide each of his stacks of yellow 5,000 chips, totaling 200,000. Park would end up folding and Peters climbed to almost 600,000.

Aymon Hata opened to 18,000 from under-the-gun and Xuan Tan called from the big blind. The two big stacks saw a {9-Spades}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades} laid out in front of them and both players checked to get a free card on the turn, the {k-Diamonds}.

Tan check-raised a bet of 13,000 from Hata to 55,000. Hata called. The {j-Spades} landed on the river and Tan led out with a bet of [65,000]. After counting out a call, Hata thought for a moment before sliding it forward.

Tan showed {k-Spades}{3-Spades} for a rivered flush, after turning trip kings, and Hata mucked.

Xuan Tan and Yan Li Top Day 3 Field with Seven-Figure Stacks

Nível 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Xuan Tan
Xuan Tan

They’re halfway there! Day 3 of this six-day PokerStars Championship Macau Main Event has come to a close with Xuan Tan leading the surviving 37-player strong field with 1,380,000 chips. There’s still a long way to go to find the winner of the HK$3,130,00 first-place prize.

Some of the other players to finish with top stacks tonight included Yan Li (1,000,200), Dong Guo (880,000), David Peters (875,000), and Thibaut Blondel (870,000).

Play resumed at noon in the PokerStars LIVE Macau poker room at City of Dreams with 151 players reclaiming their chip stacks and seats. A couple of hours later, the money bubble burst as Xiao Luo opened to 9,000 and Daniel McAulay bumped up the price to 28,000, setting the scene for what followed.

When Luo called, the dealer delivered a flop of {10-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Luo checked. McAulay bet 25,000 and Luo called again. The turn was the {5-Spades} and Luo checked. McAulay pushed all in and Luo called. McAulay had {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} while Luo held {k-Spades}{q-Spades} and needed to hit a card to survive. However, the river was the {5-Spades} and Luo met his tournament demise in 104th place, securing a prize for all remaining 103 players.

Starting the day with the chip lead was Pakinai Lisawad who was the only one to bag more than 300,000 chips the night before. He will be back for another day as he finished Day 3 with 151,000 chips.

The chip lead was claimed by Albert Paik early in the day when he called off Ryan Yu’s bluff on a {3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades} board. As soon as Paik called, Yu mucked his hand, knowing he was beat. Paik picked up the huge pot without even having to show his hand and took the chip lead. Paik carried those chips to 66th place where he was eliminated for HK$79,300.

One of the most impressive hands of the day was witnessed when Fabrice Soulier bet 89,000 into a pot of about 200,000 with {j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} on the table. Soulier had to call the clock on his tanking opponent, Zinan Xu. After about 30 seconds, Xu found the courage to call. Soulier turned over {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Xu slapped down {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for bottom pair and the winning hand.

There were a lot of talented players who were eliminated from play today as the field narrows. Some of the notable players to collect a payout included Michel Abecassis (100th — HK$62,500), Manig Loeser (87th — HK$62,500), and Bryan Huang (57th — HK$79,300).

Play will resume at noon on Friday with the 37 surviving players returning to play down to the final 16 when play will pause again. The PokerNews live reporting team will be back on the tournament floor reporting all of the action, so check back for all of your updates. Until then, have a great night!
