Rheem and Hudon Battle Preflop; Sparks Fail to Ignite

Nível 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

There was a raise preflop on Table 23 before Chino Rheem reraised to 1,600 on the button. Eliot Hudon made it 4,600 to go from the small blind and action folded back to the defending champion.

Rheem quickly five-bet to 11,600 and Hudon went into the tank. The latter eventually let his hand go and the duo exchanged words to try and figure what hands they had.

Hudon remarked he may have folded ace-king and Rheem responded by saying he had two black cards which were the same.

"You had aces?" asked Hudon but Rheem declined to answer.

Moron Doubles Through Colciar

Nível 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Ionut Colciar was in the hijack against Ignacio Moron in the big blind.

There was around 18,000 in the pot and the board read {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Moron moved all in for 6,600 and was called by Colciar. Moron showed {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a straight which beat Colciar's {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to double up.

Riess Doubles Through Lin

Ryan Riess

Heads-up to the {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, Ryan Riess checked and Ren Lin bet 4,500 on the button. As Riess was in a brief tank, Lin joked "don't slow play aces". A few seconds later, Riess jammed for 13,300 and Lin snap-called.

"Beach time," Philipp Gruissem instantly remarked before the cards were revealed.

Ryan Riess: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Ren Lin: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

"Ah, Lady Gaga," Lin now chimed in and was asking for a jack. However, the {8-Diamonds} turn and {q-Hearts} river only improved Riess as he doubled back above the starting stack.

Top 5 Poker Movies You Must Watch

Nível 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Over the past century, poker has permeated pop culture, especially when it comes to motion pictures. Long before the “Poker Boom”, and even before the World Series of Poker (WSOP) was a thing, poker had already made its big screen debut.

Over the decades, poker fans have been treated to a plethora of poker movies, some good and others not so much. Some well-received poker films include the western comedy Maverick (1994), Survivor host Jeff Probst’s debut film Finder’s Fee (2001), the improv-inspired The Grand (2007), indie comedy darling Hitting the Nuts (2010), and the high-profile Hollywood flick Molly’s Game (2017).

All of those are among the best poker movies of all time, and if this article was “Top 10” instead of “Top 5 Poker Movies,” chances are they’d make the final list. However, the PokerNews crew got together, along with input from social media, to determine the top five must-watch poker movies of all time.

In a pot of around 6,500 to the {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, Marco Weidner checked and then called a bet worth 3,000 by Jason Wheeler in the cutoff. The {5-Hearts} turn and {6-Diamonds} river were both checked and Weidner revealed the {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Wheeler double-checked his cards and tossed them into the muck much to the delight of Weidner.

"Ah, now you are fist-pumping," table neighbour Anton Wigg said with a big smile on the face.

Rash Wins at Showdown

Nível 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action was three ways on the turn. Vanessa Kade was on the button against Mustapha Kanit and Connor Rash in the blinds.

There was 2,000 in the pot and the board read {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs} when Kanit bet 1,000. Rash raised to 5,000 and Kade called. Kanit folded.

The river came the {9-Diamonds} and action checked through. Rash showed {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a pair of fours which was enough to take down the pot as Kade mucked.

Mustapha Kanit opened from middle position and was called by Tyler Cornell and Michael Rocco from the button and small blind respectively.

Andriy Lyubovetskiy, in the big blind, three-bet to 3,000. Kanit didn't wait too long before reraising to 8,100. Cornell and Rocco folded before action was back on the Ukranian.

Lyubovetskiy ended up calling which brought in the {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop and he check-called for 4,300.

As the flop action took place, Vanessa Kade informed the table that it was also Kanit's birthday.

The {j-Clubs} turn prompted Lyubovetskiy to check again. Kanit, after a minute or two, slid in enough chips to put his opponent all-in for his tournament life. Lyubovetskiy, who had around 18,000, went into the tank and eventually folded.

"Bluff!" exclaimed Kanit as he exposed his {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}. "I am unbeatable on my birthday," he joked as he raked in the pot.

Kaverman Chops With Dukic

Nível 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Picking up the action on the {q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop with 2,200 in the middle, Jonas Steinmueller bet 1,200 out of the big blind. Byron Kaverman called from under the gun and Nenad Dukic then raised to 7,000. Steinmueller went into a longer tank and folded, which then put Kaverman into a tank for two minutes.

Down to a shorter stack, he jammed and Dukic called.

Byron Kaverman: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Nenad Dukic: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The {6-Diamonds} turn and {4-Clubs} river locked up a chop and Kaverman joked "I'll take it," which Dukic did so too according to the table chat.
