Hudon and Rheem Continue to Battle

Nível 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Eliot Hudon
Eliot Hudon

Balakrishna Patur opened to 800 from under the gun and was called by Chino Rheem from the hijack. Eliot Hudon made it 3,000 to go from the button and Patur made the call. Rheem then back-jammed for around 40,000.

Hudon, who started the hand with 22,400, called off his stack after several moments of thinking time before Patur folded.

Eliot Hudon: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Chino Rheem: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Hudon and Rheem nearly got their stacks in the middle in an earlier hand but Hudon exercised some caution after he said he folded ace-king. Now, the Canadian was a favorite for a double-up.

He increased his chances of winning the hand after making a set on the {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop and secured the checkmark after the {k-Clubs} came on the turn. The {4-Clubs} river completed the board and Hudon hoovered in the chips.

Poker Player Busts from WSOP Circuit King's Main Event in a Chop Pot; No One Caught It!

Nível 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Hand
Hand

You can chalk this one up in the "never seen that before" poker category. Pierre Kauert busted in sixth place in the WSOP Circuit Main Event at King's Casino on...get this...a heads-up chop pot.

Yes, that's right, he became the first player ever, at least on a live stream, to be eliminated from a tournament in a hand he didn't actually lose. No one, not even the announcers, caught the mistake, and by the time it was discovered the pot should have been chopped, it was too late.

"It does fall under player and dealer responsibility and cannot really do anything about it at this point. If it wasn’t live streamed it would never have been realized and so we just move on," World Poker Tour's Executive Tour Director Matt Savage, who was not associated with the event, explained to PokerNews when asked how he would have proceeded.

See how the hand went down here!

Reixach Takes a (Del) Grosso Beat

Nível 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

The action started with a raise by Marcello Del Grosso from an early position and it resulted in a squeeze to 3,000 by Sergi Reixach on the button. Any potential other player involved in the hand was gone by the time the four-bet to 11,000 of Del Grosso triggered the shove by Reixach and the Canadian went into the tank.

Del Grosso sigh-called and was in rough shape when the showdown commenced.

Marcello Del Grosso: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Sergi Reixach: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Del Grosso spiked a set to double for 30,900.

"Well, at least I got the reporter to show up," Del Grosso joked and Nacho Barbero replied in a rather serious tone with a "yeah, I think you shouldn't even be playing in a 10k".

Li Turns Quads to Bust Opponent

Nível 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Victor Li recapped a hand to PokerNews that took place in Level 2.

Li had just taken his seat on Table 25 with a starting stack and was immediately involved in the action.

The cutoff made it 500 to go and Li three-bet to 1,500, from the button. The cutoff then reraised to 4,000 and Li called.

The cutoff continued for 3,000 on the {7-Clubs}{5-}{4-Clubs} flop and Li raised to 7,500. The cutoff wasn't finished there and put in his 26,000 stack and was called.

Cutoff: {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Victor Li: {7-}{7-}

Li, who had the cutoff covered, was the favorite with his set of sevens but would need to dodge his opponent's flush draw. The {7-} turn gave him Quads to lock up the hand and the cutoff exited the table after the dealer completed the board with an inconsequential river card.

Kovalski Chips Up With Aces

Nível 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Joining the action on the river with 21,000 in the pot. Fabiano Kovalski was in early position against Samad Rashid on the button.

The board read {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Kovalski bet 7,500. Rashid said "I really can't beat anything at all. Absolutely nothing." He went on to say "I also can't quite give up either." before making the call.

Kovalski turned over {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} to take the pot as Rashid revealed {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}.

Rashid said "I hate that hand, I should have folded it pre-flop." as Kovalski collected his chips.
