Top 5 Poker Movies You Must Watch

Nível 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Over the past century, poker has permeated pop culture, especially when it comes to motion pictures. Long before the “Poker Boom”, and even before the World Series of Poker (WSOP) was a thing, poker had already made its big screen debut.

Over the decades, poker fans have been treated to a plethora of poker movies, some good and others not so much. Some well-received poker films include the western comedy Maverick (1994), Survivor host Jeff Probst’s debut film Finder’s Fee (2001), the improv-inspired The Grand (2007), indie comedy darling Hitting the Nuts (2010), and the high-profile Hollywood flick Molly’s Game (2017).

All of those are among the best poker movies of all time, and if this article was “Top 10” instead of “Top 5 Poker Movies,” chances are they’d make the final list. However, the PokerNews crew got together, along with input from social media, to determine the top five must-watch poker movies of all time.

Moolhuizen Takes From Rudolph

Nível 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The action was picked up in a heads-up pot with roughly 55,000 in the middle on a flop showing {10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Mateusz Moolhuizen checked from the big blind over to Christian Rudolph in the hijack who bet out 42,000.

Moolhuizen took a moment before putting in a check-raise to 85,000 and Rudolph went into the tank. After close to 30 seconds of thought, Rudolph reluctantly let his hand go and the chips were sent to Moolhuizen.

Meanwhile on the other tables, Francisco Caballo Pena, Andras Nemeth, Tamer Alkamli and Blake Anderson were eliminated.

Pena Takes an Early Pot

Nível 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Francisco Caballo Pena opened the action from the hijack to 20,000 and only Satish Surapaneni made the call in the big blind.

The dealer fanned out a flop of {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Surapaneni check-called a bet of 20,000 from Pena. On the {a-Diamonds} turn both players slowed down with a check to the {10-Hearts} river.

Surapaneni checked a third time and Pena took a moment before cutting out a bet of 43,000. Surapaneni asked for a count, but in the end, made the fold and the early pot was shipped to Pena.
