After twelve levels of 40 minutes each, 47 players bagged at the end of the day out of 142 entries in total. Those entries also include 15 reentries. Taking the chip lead honors for Day 1a of the £1,100 Open is Kfir Ivgi with 7,060,000.

The Israeli player, currently residing in England, has over $300,000 in recorded live tournament cashes and will be looking to add more to that by winning the Open here in Nottingham. Trailing him by only 60,000 in chips is the UK’s James Walker with 7,000,000 exactly. Walker reached the final table of the Finale at the 2017 partypoker Caribbean Poker Party and finished in eighth place for $35,000. He will be aiming for a win this time.

Closing the podium in third place in the chip counts is David L’Honore with 6,290,000. L’Honore also played the 2017 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK here in Nottingham and cashed for £15,000 in the Main Event. Other notable players making it through to Day 2 include Yiannis Liperis (5,720,000), Andrew Hulme (4,420,000), Terrance Green (4,235,000), Dean Hutchison (2,875,000), Barny Boatman (2,735,000), and Jessica Pilkington (2,260,000).

2017 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK Main Event winner, Maria Lampropulos also made it through but has quite a long road ahead of her as she bagged 1,720,000 in chips. Unfortunately, not everyone was lucky enough to find a bag to put their chips in. Ioannis Angelou-Konstas lost his last chips to Ivgi in one of the last hands of the night. Andy Hills, Mark Smith, Robert Heidorn, Tom Hall, and Michal Lubas fell at the many hurdles of the day.

Players will return for Day 2 on Monday, October 1, at 3 PM local time. Players that aren’t happy with their current stack can choose to reenter on any of the other starting flights. Their biggest stack will go forward and their other stacks will be taken out of play. There are three more flights to come starting with Day 1c at noon tomorrow, Sunday, September 30.

Three More Hands

Nível 12 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

The tournament clock has been stopped with 15 minutes left in the last level of the day. A draw has taken place and the remaining players need to play three more hands before they can bag their chips for Day 2.

Foggin Takes From Naaman

Nível 12 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Marc Foggin limped in on the button and Morris Naaman completed his small blind. Parminder Kandola opted to check his big blind.

The flop came {9-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, both Naaman and Kandola checked. Foggin bet 85,000 and only Naaman called.

They both checked through the {5-Clubs} on the turn to the {7-Spades} on the river. Naaman checked for the last time. Foggin bet 325,000. Naaman contemplated his options and then decided to make the call. Foggin turned over {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for the rivered set of sevens and that was enough to rake in the pot.

Haney Doubles Through Ivgi

Nível 11 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Kfir Ivgi raised to 100,000 from the hijack and Tom Haney shoved for 925,000 in total from the button. The blinds folded so action was back on Ivgi who asked Haney if he wanted a call. Haney said no but Ivgi still put in the chips for the call.

Tom Haney: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Kfir Ivgi: {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} to keep Haney ahead.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} to give Ivgi the flush draw now.

The river completed the board with the {7-Clubs} and Haney doubled up with the higher hole cards.

Walker Over Worthington-Leese

Nível 11 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Leo Worthington-Leese raised to 90,000 from under the gun and was called by James Walker in mid-position.

The flop came {2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades}, Worthington-Leese check-called the 110,000 bet of Walker.

The turn brought them the {4-Diamonds}, Worthington-Leese check-called again, now it was a bet of 225,000 by Walker.

The river completed the board with the {q-Spades} and they both checked. Worthington-Leese showed {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} a rivered pair of queens. Walker tabled {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for the same pair of queens but with the higher kicker.
