Can Online Qualifier Katie Swift Turn £550 into £1 Million?

After eight levels of 75 minutes each on Day 3 of the record-breaking 2017 partypokerLIVE MILLIONS Dusk Till Dawn £5,300 Main Event in the home of poker in the United Kingdom, only 45 players bagged up chips to remain in contention for the top-prize of £1,000,000 and trophy here in Nottingham.

After the previous day saw the field reduced to just 253 hopefuls who were all guaranteed a portion of the £6,017,395 prize pool and locked up a min cash worth £5,000, the cardroom of the Dusk Till Dawn was filled with non-stop poker action once again and it was Moritz Dietrich who came out on top with 78,115,000. Dietrich is followed by the last two women in the field, who complete the overnight podium: £550 Phase 1 Online qualifier Katie Swift accumulated 74,040,000 while Maria Lampropulos follows in third with 57,540,000.

Another five players are in for another massive payday on top as part of a last special longer competition from the Caribbean Poker Party in Punta Cana last November and there is an additional £100,000 up for grabs for the last man standing.

The last Longer contenders Thomas Dunwoodie (54,470,000) and Mateusz Rypulak (48,675,000) round out the top five counts after Day 3 while other notables and big stacks include Sergio Castelluccio (45,785,000), Vicente Delgado (44,750,000), David Peters (43,540,000), Jake Cody (40,000,000), Igor Kurganov (35,420,000), Jon Spinks (34,815,000), 2016 IO champion Daniel Wilson (20,385,000), David "MissOracle" Yan (19,250,000), Javier Gomez (13,800,000) Ben Jackson (12,560,000) and Iaron Lightbourne (10,900,000).

Tom "Jabracada" Hall, who already reached the final table of the £10,300 High Roller and eventually finished third, advanced with 29,935,000) while Stephen Chidwick (2,085,000) will be the shortest stack when play resumes on Saturday April 22nd, as of 1 p.m. local time in level 46 and blinds of 400,000/800,000 with and a running ante of 80,000.

Within the first two levels of the day, 101 players were sent to the payout desk. Dejan Pustoslemsek arrived just in time to see his cards hit the muck in the first hand while he was forced all in for an ante. Others that also had to settle for the min-cash of £5,000 were Chris Moorman, Robin Ylitalo, 2016 World Series of Poker bracelet winner Peter Eichhardt, Christopher Frank, Rainer Kempe and Craig McCorkell. Moorman got his short stack in with king-ten suited against the ace-queen of Miguel Riera and the Spaniard made trips queens.

The second payout step saw plenty of notables run out of chips such as the partypoker ambassadors Tony Dunst and Sam Trickett, Faraz Jaka, Dario Sammartino, David Vamplew, Mustapha Kanit and Steve O'Dwyer. The latter saw his hopes destroyed in two confrontations with Ivan Gabrieli, after the latter first called all-in with queen-high on the river and was good before doubling with ace-queen full versus ace-king on the river of an ace-high board. O'Dwyer was left with dust and busted soon after.

The eliminations kept coming at an incredible speed, and Manig Loeser, Ivan Luca, Mike Leah, partypoker pro Anatoly Filatov, Jussi Nevanlinna, Marvin Rettenmaier, and Andreas Hoivold were all gone before half-time and the dinner break. That left Mike Sexton as last ambassador of the online poker giant, and the American saw his pocket kings cracked by the pocket eights of Tommaso Briotti after getting the chips in preflop via four-bet shove. Sexton eventually finished 82nd for £15,000, and Luciana Manolea, Dermot Blain and Ian Simpson all had to settle for the same amount as well.

High Roller regular Sergey Lebedev lost a big flip with pocket queens against the ace-king of Jon Spinks and took home £17,500, and Anton Wigg, Jack Salter, Keven Stammen as well as Kristen Bicknell all claimed the same payday. Tobias Reinkemeier was among those to make it one payout step further and the German became the last casualty of Day 3 when his pocket tens failed to hold up against the king-jack suited of Javier Gomez.

All remaining 45 players have £20,000 locked up for their efforts, and Day 4 is scheduled to play down to the official nine-handed final table for the big showdown on Sunday. Today also featured another starting day of the £2,500 Turbo 8-Max Event that features a guaranteed prize pool of £1,000,000.

Furthermore, the £25,000 Super High Roller drew a field of 14 entries and the top three spots were paid. £10,300 High Roller runner-up Bartlomiej Machon finished third this time around, while Pascal Lefrancois and Mustapha Kanit agreed to an ICM deal and left £25,000 up for grabs. Ultimately, it was Lefrancois who emerged victorious and took home £151,300.

45 Players Bag Up

Nível 45 : 300,000/600,000, 60,000 ante

There was no further casualty at the end of the night, and 45 players bagged up chips at the end of level 45 to return tomorrow at 1 p.m. local time for the penultimate day of the event. The full chip counts and a recap of today's action will follow soon.

Late Double for Cody

Nível 45 : 300,000/600,000, 60,000 ante

In one of the last hands of the night, Jake Cody got his stack of 19,230,000 in preflop against Javier Gomez and flipped over {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. Gomez took the flip with {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and failed to get there despite his two over cards and a gutshot on the flop. Both players essentially traded stacks, and the Brit will return for tomorrow with an above-average stack.

Rypulak Thinks Long and Wrong

Nível 45 : 300,000/600,000, 60,000 ante
Mateusz Rypulak
Mateusz Rypulak

When we arrived at the table of Mateusz Rypulak and Tommaso Briotti, the turn was being dealt and the two players built a pot more than 6 million. Rypulak checked his option on the {7-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} board, before Briotti made a bet of 4,675,000. Rypulak thought a minute or so and made the call.

The river {J-Hearts} prompted another check from Rypulak, leading Briotti to put forward a tower of purple and blue chips good for 8,9 million. Rypulak went deep into the tank, and as the minutes went by more and more spectators gathered around the table. After a good five minutes Rypulak threw in a single chip to signal a call, but had to hand over a whole lot more, as he couldn't beat the {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} of his opponent.

Reinkemeier Loses Flip to Bust

Nível 45 : 300,000/600,000, 60,000 ante
Tobias Reinkemeier
Tobias Reinkemeier

Mark Kelsall just got a bet of 3,100,000 paid off by Ben Morrison on the river of a board showing {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades} and mucked when he was shown {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

That sent Morrison down to just over 13 big blinds, but the other short stack of the table would put his tournament life on the line next and that was Tobias Reinkemeier.

He shoved from middle position and the action folded to Javier Gomez in the big blind, who asked for a count. The all in was for 8,530,000 and Gomez called indeed.

Tobias Reinkemeier: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Javier Gomez: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

The flop came {K-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} and Gomez improved to a pair of kings. Reinkemeier had a sweat with the {6-Spades} turn, but a blank {3-Diamonds} river sent the German pro to the rail in 46th place.

Nyberg No More

Nível 45 : 300,000/600,000, 60,000 ante

Louis Nyberg made the next pay jump and received £20,000 for his efforts, but he doesn't have a shot at the top prize of £1m anymore.

Nyberg was rather short and got it in with {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} from the button, and initial raiser Grzegorz Grochulski quickly called with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. The {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop left Nyberg in desperate shape, and he picked up four outs on the {Q-Clubs} turn. However, a blank {9-Spades} river sent the Swede to the rail and Grochulski recovered some chips.

Death By Quads - Times Two

Nível 45 : 300,000/600,000, 60,000 ante

Both Mihaita Croitoru and Michael Bailey have a story to tell, as they were both eliminated by quads.

Croitoru got into a three-bet pot with Sergio Castelluccio and the latter check-called a bet on the {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop and the {2-Spades} turn before moving all in after the {10-Clubs} river. Croitoru jumped out of his seat and studied the opponent and board before eventually calling with king-queen. Castelluccio showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and claimed the big pot.

As far as Bailey is concerned, he four-bet shoved for 14,500,000 with ace-king and Jeremy Pantin called with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. The {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop left Bailey drawing dead, making both the {6-Clubs} turn and the {8-Clubs} river a less painful formality.

Lyall Finds a Double

Nível 45 : 300,000/600,000, 60,000 ante

After a raise by Xia Ke, Dean Lyall moved all in for 7,495,000 and Ke eventually called to put Lyall at risk, only to find himself with the inferior pocket pair.

Dean Lyall: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Xia Ke: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The board came {K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and Lyall doubled.
