River Trey Cripples O'Brien

Nível 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Dan O'Brien check-called a Jesse Yaginuma flop bet on a board reading {8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}. They both checked the {a-Diamonds} turn, but when the {3-Clubs} river came down and O'Brien led for 7,500, Yaginuma jammed over the top for 18,175 total.

O'Brien didn't seem to like it, but made the call with the {a-Spades}{q-Spades}. Yaginuma had the {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} set, with the river going about as well for O'Brien as Game 7 of the NBA Finals and his forays into sports betting mentioned earlier.

O'Brien had about a quarter of a starting stack, making the walk of shame out of the tournament room soon after, as Yaginuma began a climb up the counts.

Redman Takes a Chunk From Hartmann

Nível 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

It's been a good day so far for Bob Redman, who's sitting on 62,000 chips as of right now. Just now it was German pro Pascal Hartmann who raised to 700 from the button and Redman three-bet right away from the small blind to 2,500.

Hartmann made the call and the flop brought out {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} on which Redman bet 3,300. Hartmann made the call and the turn was the {3-Hearts}.

Both players checked on the turn and the river completed the board with the {7-Spades}. Redman bet 5,000 on the river and Hartmann called, only to muck when he was shown {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}.

A Shake Up at the Top

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Brian Mancilla has moved into the lead again after getting it in with the best of it for the umpteenth time today.

It was kings over queens this time, holding to hand him a 30,000 chip pot and move his stack to the 125,000 mark.

In the meantime, the sharks are beginning to circle around Howard Hunt as he's been bled down to 75,000.

Engel Winning

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Not sure what set this one off, but Ari Engel and Brandon Meyers have entered into some kind of needling war of late.

Myers is on Engel's direct left, but Engel appears to be getting the best of it right now, with more chips and the sharper wit.

"It's so strange to have someone on your left who is basically telling you he's going to give away all his chips to you," Engel said. "He's playing great...for the table."

The Muppet Show

Nível 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

OG Ray Henson has had a smooth ride up the leader board here in the Hollywood Poker Open Season 4 Championship Event.

At this point he's over 100,000, cruising, and enjoying what he described as a "peaceful" grind. He did managed to make a set of eights against a player with top pair and a willingness to pay him off, to move up the counts, but has avoided the big confrontations for the most part.

"I haven't busted anyone," he said.

Tureniec Tears It Up

Nível 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Jesse Yaginuma made it 1,500 and the button called, before Michael Tureniec made it 5,350, three-betting out of the small blind.

Kitty Kuo turned tail and ran from the big, and after Yaginuma folded, the button called. Heads up on a {4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop, Tureniec continued for 3,800. The button called, and Tureniec fired 10,300 at the {6-Clubs} turn. The button called again, and when the {4-Spades} river was revealed, they checked it down.

Tureniec turned over the {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and after the button mucked, he collected the pot
