Kitai Eliminates Pagano

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

We asked Davidi Kitai what had happened to his former table mate Luca Pagano, and the Belgium three time bracelet winner told us that he was the one responsible for Pagano gone missing.

Pagano had opened from middle position and Davidi Kitai had flatted with {A-}{Q-} in the cutoff. Pagano had made a continuation bet on {Q-}{9-}{3-} and Kitai had called once more.

A {5-} fell on the turn and Pagano now check called a bet from Kitai. Pagano, who had started the hand with about 12,000, check called all in on the {A-} on the river.

Kitai showed his top two and Pagano left the tournament area.

Castaignon Flops Full House

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Joining the action on the {10-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} flop, Remi Castaignon and Andreas Berggren checked in the small respectively big blind and the initial raiser in the cutoff seat bet 1,800. Castaignon raised to 3,800 and then called the reraise to 9,000 by Bergren, the player in the cutoff folded.

Both players then checked the {8-Spades} turn and the {J-Clubs}, which turned out to be a wise move by Berggren as the Swede was shown {10-Hearts} {10-Spades} by Castaignon.

Shak Gets Lucky

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

With the board showing {k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} Dan Shak led out for 3,500 from middle position. Eugene Katchalov was his opponent and raised it up to 8,000 from the button. Shak thought about his decision for a moment before making the call before both players watched the {9-Diamonds} complete the board.

Shak reached for his chips and bet out 12,000 before staring down Katchalov. It didn’t take him long to release his hand as he relinquished the pot to Shak.

“You got lucky,” said Katchalov after the completion of the hand.

“What you think I got lucky with?” smiled Shak, curious at Katchalov’s statement.

Shak then tabled his {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for the nut flush as he stacked up his chips.

“Nice hand,” said Katchalov sincerely, as he drops down to 40,500 in chips.

Georgios Sotiropoulos
Georgios Sotiropoulos

Georgios Sotiropoulos raised to 925 and was called by Eugene Katchalov in the big blind. The Team PokerStars Pro check-raised the {7-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} flop from 1,100 to 3,300 and Sotiropoulos called to see the {A-Hearts} on the turn. Katchalov bet 6,600 and the Greek called before both then checked the {6-Clubs} on the river.

Katchalov showed {6-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} but that was only second best to the {J-Hearts} {9-Hearts} of the Greek, who finished runner-up to Julian Track in the very same event last year.

Puchkov Doubles

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

On a turn of {7-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {7-Spades} {3-Hearts}, Konstantin Puchkov was all in with {J-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} for his last 12,000 chips and his opponent had made a flush with {8-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. The {3-Spades} on the river let the Russian double up and he is back above starting stack.
