Nível 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
WSOP Paradise
WSOP Paradise

WSOP officials announced the “WSOP Paradise Parlay” by GGPoker, which is a chance for players that cashed in the 2023 WSOP to parlay their summer success into additional cash during 2023 WSOP Paradise.

It’s very simple – if a player earns 10 cashes between the two series, they will receive $5,000; if they make three final tables, they’ll get $25,000; and if they capture two bracelets, well then a hefty $100,000 additional prize awaits!

Support for the WSOP’s new promotion was overwhelmingly positive.

There was around 40,000 in the middle on the 98569 completed board.

Deividas Daubaris and Elias Abussamra checked from the blinds before Aliaksandr Shylko made an overbet of 50,000. Daubaris quickly called before Abussamra went into the tank. The Brazilian used three time bank cards and ended up calling to create a 190,000 pot.

Daubaris immediately tabled his 55 for fives fill of nines and both of his opponents mucked. The Lithuanian, who was once the short stack, goes into the break as the chip leader.

After doubling up Deividas Daubaris, Pavels Spirins was a short stack and he had the last of his chips in the middle preflop and was at risk to Aliaksander Shylko.

Spirins had 9x9x while Shylko had KxKx. The cowboys remained best on the runout and Spirins was the first casualty of the day.

Soon after, Elias Abussamra opened to 3,000 from middle position and called when Shylko made it 9,000 from the hijack.

Abussamra check-called for 4,000 on the AJ7 flop before the 3 turn checked through to the Q river. Abussamra led out for 20,000, leaving around 44,500 behind. Shylko moved all in as the bigger stack and sent his opponent into the tank. Abussamra used up two time banks before making the one chip call.

Shylko tabled AA for a set of aces, while Abussamra turned over his A4. The latter then quickly reentered and has a fresh starting stack.

A third elimination soon followed as Ramon Colillas was sent to the wrong side of the rail on the other table.

O'Dwyer Takes His Squeak-Free Seat

EPT Chair

One more crusher has taken his seat in the tournament to boost the field to 14 entries.

Steve O'Dwyer, with nearly $40 million in live earnings, has hopped into the mix and finds himself on the direct left of PokerStars ambassador Ramon Colillas.

O'Dwyer has had some massive influence at EPT Prague, after successfully ending his crusade against the famous Prague chair squeak.

For most of the stop's history, the "eeeeeek" that would follow anytime someone needed to leave their chair became one of the biggest pet peeves. Steve O'Dwyer was one of those players, and he had been on a crusade to get the problem fixed for the best part of ten years.

“It’s always been my biggest complaint here in Prague is the chairs causing psychic damage,” O’Dwyer told the Poker in the Ears Podcast last year. “It’s not a squeak. It’s the loudest, most painful screech you could possibly imagine, with those bare metal bottoms of the chairs ripping into the tile floor every time one of the 500 people in the room slightly shifts their weight a little bit.”

Thankfully, the solution was found at PokerStars' last trip to Prague, where ferules (chair caps) were added to the feet of the chair legs, and thankfully, those ear-piercing squeaks are a thing of the past!

Toan Folds Out Silva; Daubaris Doubles Through Spirins

Nível 4 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Hwany Lee raised to 3,500 from middle position and Robbie Toan called from the hijack. Pablo Brito Silva three-bet to 14,000 from the small blind and only Toan called.

Silva led out for 16,000 on the KQ6 flop and was called. Silva then check-folded to a bet of 30,000 on the 9 turn.

On the second table, Deividas Daubaris was all in for 62,500 and was at risk to Pavels Spirins.

Daubaris had JJ and was flipping against AK. The board ran out with the 635610 for Daubaris to secure the double-up.

Newey on Fumes

Nível 3 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

There was another blind versus blind battle on Table 2, with Paul Newey and Pablo Brito Silva being the participants this time around.

Newey had remained around the starting stack through the first two and a half levels, while Silva had seen his stack diminish before regaining most of his lost chips.

With 57,500 in the pot on the 5A1023 board, Newey, with 64,500 behind checked. Silva bet 55,000 and sent Newey into the blender. The latter ended up calling after using up a time bank card.

Silva tabled K4 for a wheel while Newey flashed his AJ before it went into the muck.
