Bad Beats Busts Tedeschi

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Paul Tedeschi
Paul Tedeschi

Teun Mulder opened from early position to 3,000 and Paul Tedeschi called on the button. Josu Plazaola three-bet to 12,500 from the small blind which folded out Mulder. Tedeschi responded by moving all in for 43,100 which sent Plazaola into the tank.

After several minutes the clock was called and as the countdown began, Plazaola called.

Paul Tedeschi: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Josu Plazaola: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Tedeschi was in great shape to double up following the {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, however the {9-Clubs} turn gave Plazaola a set of nines. The {5-Diamonds} completed the board and the Frenchman was eliminated.

Lucky Sevens Lead to Yau Triple

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

There was a three-way all in at Table 7 with Franck Yau being the shortest stack, while Aurelien Russo had both him and Cosmin-Ionut Nica covered.

Franck Yau: {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Cosmin-Ionut Nica: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Aurelien Russo: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

"I'm live!" Yau cheered when he saw he could hit a seven.

Yau's optimism was warranted as the flop landed {6-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} to give him the lead, though Russo picked up a flush draw. The {8-Clubs} on the turn didn't change too much and the {7-Spades} on the river gave Yau a full house to triple.

The double-paired board also meant a split pot between Nica and Russo, something the latter didn't look too happy about.

"See? Lucky game!" Yau told the dealer.

Rinne Doubles with Aces; Reard Building a Stack

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Abdelkader Benhalima opened to 4,000 from middle position and thank each player as they folded preflop. However, the courtesies stopped at Toivo Rinne, who jammed for 23,600 from the small blind.

Rinne tried to move all in at first by making a triangle symbol with his hands, however, the dealer insisted on a verbal action before confirming the bet. Rinne seemed less than pleased about that but announced all in after the discussion.

Benhalima snap-called but was apoplectic after the hands were tabled.

Toivo Rinne: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Abdelkader Benhalima: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Rinne doubled up with aces after the {5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} runout.

Also at the table is Alexandre Reard, who had dropped down to 13,000 at one stage. He's managed to 10x his stack and sits comfortably as the dinner break approaches.

There was an incredible start to the year with the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship at the stunning Baha Mar Resort in The Bahamas.

And PokerStars Ambassador Nick Walsh says that things are heading in a really good direction when it comes to the live poker scene.

“The French — they absolutely love poker,” he told PokerNews. I'm expecting a very, very large event. Not just because of where live poker is right now, but I know it's been a while since we've had a stop close enough for the French to attend that wasn't Monte Carlo.”

American David Kaye spoke with PokerNews about his journey from a small-town Michigan poker player to becoming a poker player and PokerStars ambassador.

He also gave insight into the current poker scene in Michigan, and the potential of online poker in the state.
“We know the end goal isn't just two states,” he said. “Two states is great, but this is just the groundwork to get where we really want to be when we have all the states under one umbrella — or as many states as possible.”

Frohli Doubles Up and Leaves Cortes Close to Busting

Nível 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded around to Andreas Frohli who shoved for around 55,000 from the button. Gerard Cortes called in the big blind, and the race began.

Andreas Frohli: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Gerard Cortes: {k-Hearts}{a-Spades}

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. A ten on the flop gave Frohli a set and Cortes was drawing dead. The double up for Frohli left Cortes with just a couple of big blinds behind.

Romanello Left with Crumbs

Nível 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action was caught on the river with around 45,000 in the pot on the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} board.

Roberto Romanello checked in the small blind before Georgios Tranos bet 21,000. Romanello went into the tank and found the call.

Tranos tabled his {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for a set and the Welshman mucked.
