The 2023 PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris festival got underway last night at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile and continues today with Day 1a of the €1,100 FPS Paris Main Event at noon local time.
The France Poker Series should attract a sizable field as the event features three starting flights, including one that gets underway later this evening at 7 p.m. The field may include some big names, including those who weren't fortunate enough to advance in $10,200 Mystery Bounty, such as Steve O'Dwyer, Erik Seidel and PokerStars Team Pro Andre Akkari.
In exchange for their €1,100 buy-in, players will receive a starting stack of 30,000 chips with blinds starting off at 100/100/100 and 40-minute levels. Day 1 flights are scheduled to play 14 levels and approximately 15% of the total field will be paid.
Players will be given 20-minute breaks every three levels and there is a 75-minute dinner break scheduled to take place after Level 9.
Per French regulations, players are allowed to reenter once per flight for up to four entries. Registration will close after Level 10.
The surviving players from the three starting flights will return for Day 2 on Feb. 18 at noon, and the event is scheduled to play two more days before a winner is crowned on Day 4 on Feb. 20.

It was an early cooler as Hasson had flopped top set only to be far behind the nut straight of Dijkkamp. The turn didn't change anything, but the river paired the board to give Hasson a full house and Dijkkamp made his early exit.
"I kind of think this is what you had, maybe sevens," Hasson said as Dijkkamp wished him good luck.
