Sofia Lovgren Eliminated With Queens

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Sofia Lövgren
Sofia Lövgren

One of the ladies in the field today hits the rail with ladies. Antonio Luft raised from early position to 1,000 and the button called. In the small blind Sofia Lovgren three-bet to 2,500. Luft then moved all in with about ~17,000 and the Swedish starlet called for less, tabling the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}.

She was in bad shape as Luft turned over the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. After the {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs} ran out on the board, Lovgren wished the whole table "good luck guys" and exited the tournament area.

Priority Boarding

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

At the end of the level, which is about a half hour from now, the players will take a 75-minute dinner break. The venue is hosting a buffet for the players, but given the size of the field, a system has been developed to accommodate everyone.

This is how it will work. The players currently seated at Tables 1-16 will be allowed to go to the buffet right away. A half hour later, the remaining players will be allowed up. It's kind of like "A" lunch and "B" lunch in American middle schools.

Here's hoping you friends are in the same lunch group as you!

Show Me The Ace Three One Time

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

After a button raise, a very short-stacked Rasmus Nielsen raised all in and the big blind called. The initial raiser folded and the Dane turned over his cards, saying to his opponent "Cmon, show me the ace three one time" before revealing the {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}. His wish was not granted as Filippo Lazzaretto held the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. The {J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{10-Spades} board changed nothing and Nielsen hit the rail.

Tureniec Doesn't Get The Pot

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Michael Tureniec
Michael Tureniec

Michael Tureniec is well known for his stare and the sun glasses on. I haven't seen him any other way since covering tournaments and he is obviously here in the very same style as well. Slowly accumulating chips and you never really know how. His latest attempt got denied though.

On the {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Spades} flop we see a 2,800 pot and Valentino Yasenov Konakchiev bet 1,650. Tureniec raised to 4,600 and the big blind in between got out of the way. The {2-Hearts} turn got checked through and on the {9-Hearts} river the Swede quickly folded when his opponent bet 8,000.

Nunes Hitting Flops

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Gerson Giroti Nunes has been giving Dominik Nitsche some trouble at the table these last few levels. He had just beaten him in a three-bet pot where Nitsche folded the flop when they tangled again.

Nitsche opened for 700 and Nunes put in 650. “No discounts.” Nitsche warned and the extra 50 was put in. They saw a heads-up flop of {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Nunes checked and Nitsche continued for 800. Nunes made the call and both players checked the turn {5-Clubs} and river {10-Hearts}.

Nunes turned over the {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Nitsche mucked. “I should have given you that discount. Oh you won more, that’s right.” Nitsche corrected himself.

It wasn’t only NItsche that was having difficulties against Nunes however. In the next hand Grudi Grudev opened for 800 and got several callers including Nunes. They saw a flop of {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Grudev continued for 1,600. Nunes was the only caller.

A turn card {a-Clubs} saw Grudev check and fold to a bet of 2,500 from Nunes who showed the {5-Hearts}. “I love this card.” said Nunes

The Kings Don't Hold

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Julian Bebawi opened the action with a standard raise and one seat over we see the three-bet to 2,500. Riccardo Mazzitelli, who won his seat for the Main Event in one of the satellites, clicked it back to 5,400 and the initial raiser moved all in for 16,475. The three-bettor folded but Mazzitelli snap called with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} to see the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} for his opponent.

On the {2-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop the tides changed, but the Italian still had a flush draw. Neither the {3-Hearts} turn nor the {A-Clubs} river would change the outcome though and Bebawi doubled through.
