Silver versus Duhamel

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We picked up the action on the flop as we saw Max Silver check from the big blind. Jonathan Duhamel in the cutoff position, on the still five handed table, made it 300 to go. Silver check-raised to a 1,000 and Duhamel made the call. The dealer burned and turned the {6-Clubs} and Silver contemplated for a second before putting out a red 1,000 chip, a purple 500 and three black 100 chips. 1,800 to Duhamel who threw in two red 1,000 chips to make the call. The river was everything but a blank with the {5-Diamonds} hitting the green felt. Silver thought for a little bit before checking. Duhamel thought about it a bit longer but checked as well in the end. Silver showed his {9-Spades}{8-Hearts} and that was the winner, Jonathan checked his cards one more time and then tossed them into the muck.

It's Busy

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The European Poker Tour Main Event is well underway but that's not the only thing going on here in the Hilton Prague. The tournament room and lobby in front, is fully packed with poker tables and not all of them are for the EPT. There's a large group of tables where people are playing Day 2 of the Eureka Poker Tour High Roller and there's one table reserved for the Eureka Poker Tour Main Event final table. And then there's the cash game tables; lot's of 'em. Add a big feature table, a special table for Rafael Nadal's charity contest and several information desks and you can imagine it's rowdy in here.

Quads for Menne

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

It was a great start for PokerStars qualifier Kyle Menne, who won a big pot within the first 15 minutes of the day with quads.

We happened upon the action on a board reading {9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades} after Menne had bet 2,600. His opponent, Russia's Viktor Litovchenko, proceeded to raise to 6,125, which inspired Menne to three-bet to 12,600. Litovchenko made a quick call and heard the bad news.

"Quads," Menne said and tabled the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. A disgusted Litovchenko shook his head and then flung the {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} face up in the middle of the table. Menne is up to 45,000 here in Level 1.

Duhamel Chipping Down

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

PokerStars Team Pro Jonathan Duhamel made it 1,000 to go on the turn card with a board showing {7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. He had the button and faced a call from Ferit Gabriellson from Sweden who threw in the chips. The river brought the {4-Spades} and when Gabriellson checked Duhamel decided to check behind and muck when his opponent announced “Ten.” and showed the {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The very next hand Duhamel opened for 225 and called a three-bet to 650 from Gabriellson, now in the small blind. An Ace high flop saw Gabriellson make a quick bet and an even quicker fold from Duhamel.

Frankland Brings the Pain

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Three players saw a flop of {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. UK Pro Matt Frankland checked from the big blind as did Istvan Birizdo from Hungary and Radu Lungu, a PokerStars qualifier from Romania. The turn brought the {9-Diamonds}. Checked again to Lungu who bet 525 only to face a raise from Frankland to 1,650. With Birizdo getting out of the way Lungu made the call. The river was the {10-Clubs} and now Frankland led out for 1,800. This seemed to pain the Romanian who gave Frankland a puzzled look, glanced at the ceiling and let his hand go.

Straight on the Board

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Clyde Tjauw Foe had to play the first half hour of the day three-handed but is playing five-handed now. We just saw him bet out 325 from the small blind on a {10-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop. The big blind raised to 750 rather quickly and Tjauw Foe made the call. Both players checked on the {7-Clubs} on the turn and the river brought the {9-Hearts} in play. Tjauw Foe checked with the straight on the board and folded as his neighbor bet out 2.300.

Aido Looks to Continue European Domination

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

It’s been a heck of a year for Sergio Aido, who is in action here on Day 1a. The Spaniard has amassed $476,590 in tournament winning this year, which includes a win in the UKIPT London back in March for $217,530. Four days after that victory, Aido went on to finish runner-up in the UKIPT London £1,000 Turbo for £20,000.

Other highlights include runner-up in the UKIPT London £2,000 Six Handed for £26,460, winner of the £2,200 UKIPT Galway High Roller for £24,450, third in the EPT Barcelona £2,000 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Six Handed for £24,755, 12th in the 2013 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event for $60,486, and most recently sixth in the UKIPT Nottingham Main Event for $33,472.

While all those scores are impressive, Aido’s biggest score came back in October 2012 when he won the WPT National Series Barcelona for $115,240. Clearly, Aido knows how to dominate on the European continent and looks to continue his success here in Prague.
