It’s a good day to be a spectator in the Grand Connaught Rooms. Day one of the Super High Roller is a day like no others. Everyone’s here and nobody seems to leave, as the PokerStars Blog reports.
Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu raised to 9,000 under the gun and the action was folded to Philipp Gruissem in the big blind. Gruissem three-bet to 25,000 and Negreanu chatted a bit before making the call.
The flop brought and both players checked.
On the turn the popped up and Gruissem checked again. Negreanu bet 30,000 and Gruissem tossed in the call.
On the river the hit and the German pro checked once more. Negreanu quickly bet 65,000 and Gruissem put the chips for the call aside.
After about 10 seconds Gruissem called and Negreanu announced he had a flush. The Canadian super star showed and Gruissem mucked his cards in frustration.
Gruissem made some remarks about Negreanu being lucky and the Team PokerStars Pro did not deny that as he's up to around 530,000 chips.
Our access to the feature table is a bit limited, and as a result we missed the elimination of Erik Seidel prior to the break. Whether or not he'll choose to re-enter remains to be seen.
