Misclick Benefits Huang

Nível 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Bryan Huang
Bryan Huang

"I did that the other day," a player at Table 28 said as the dealer was busy sorting chips.

We missed the specifics, but from what we could piece together the player was referencing the prior hand between Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang and his opponent. Apparently preflop action saw Huang's opponent misclick and accidentally toss in yellow T5,000 chips as opposed to green T1,000 chips. Whatever the case, it resulted in Huang getting his stack of 22,000 or so all in preflop.

Huang: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-}{9-}

Huang got it in good courtesy of the mistake, but he was still vulnerable. The {5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop missed both players, but the {K-Hearts} turn hit Huang. His paired king secured him the double, and he was paid after the {9-Diamonds} was put out on the river for good measure.

WSOP APAC Bracelet Winner Looking for More Success at Crown Melbourne

Nível 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Back in October, Scott Calcagno topped a field of 250 to win the 2014 World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific Event $4 AU$1,650 No-Limit Hold'em Terminator for AU$61,250 and a gold bracelet. It was a career achievement, but he's no doubt hoping to add an Aussie Millions Main Event title to his résumé.

In a recent hand, there was 6,000 or so in the pot and a board reading {5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{j-Clubs} when a player in middle position checked to Calcagno, who thought for a few moments before doing the same. After the dealer burned and turned the {2-Hearts}, the middle-position player bet 2,400 and Calcagno just called. When the {Q-Hearts} completed the board on the river, both players returned to checking.

The middle-position player showed the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for a missed flush that turned into top pair, but it was no good as Calcagno rolled over the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for an overpair.

"I'm sure you were check-raising the flop?" Calcagno asked. He received an affirmative answer, and had that happened, this pot could have been much bigger than it turned out to be.

Quoss on the Up

Nível 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Fabian Quoss is no stranger to making Super High Roller/Challenge final tables but it wasn't to be for him in this year's $100,000 challenge. He's jumped into the Main Event and has already started on an upward trajectory with his stack at 36,000.

He and three other players took to a {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop. The action checked around to Quoss on the button who bet 1,000. Only the small called to the {10-Spades} turn where he check-called a 2,500 bet from the German. The board completed with the {8-Diamonds} and Quoss fired for 4,500 and the small blind tank-folded.

Steicke Busts Second Tournament of the Day

Nível 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
David Steicke
David Steicke

David Steicke lasted just two hands in the $AU100,000 Challenge and didn't last too much longer in the Main Event.

He was on the button and and battling the small blind. They had reached the turn with the board reading {k-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts} and the small blind led for 500. Steicke quickly moved all in for slightly fewer than 4,000 and was called.

Steicke: {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for second pair.
Small blind: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for top pair.

The river came as the {a-Hearts} and Steicke quickly departed the room.

One for Awerbuch

Nível 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Over at Table 31, Kyle Cheong opened for 450 from middle position and Sam Cohen, who finished eighth in the Aussie Millions Main Event two years back, looked him up from the button. Chad Awerbuch called from the small blind, the player in the big came along as well, and four players took a flop of {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, which they all checked.

After the dealer burned and turned the {6-Hearts}, Awerbuch led out for 1,625, only Cheong called, and the {9-Hearts} completed the board on the river. Both players returned to checking and Awerbuch tabled the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for a rivered straight. It was good as Cheong sent his cards to the muck unseen.

It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on the trio's chip stacks. Meanwhile, Mustapha Kanit has been seated at the table.

Srinvasan Can't Believe he Folded Kings

Nível 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Shyam Srinvasan was sat in disbelief after folding pockets kings on a {10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop but his opponent opened {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

The Canadian was in the small blind and battling his big blinded opponent. Exactly 4,000 was in the middle and the big blind had all his remaining 14,775 chips over the line. Srinvasan tank-folded to leave himself with 34,000.

After seeing the aces, he said to the table, "I had kings! Pull them out of the muck if want."

Turning his attention to his opponent, he continued, "You could've got all my chips if you three-bet me preflop. Wow, can't believe I folded that!"
