The action started with a limp from the under-the-gun player. Sameer Rattonsey was in the small blind and would come along for the action, as well as the player in the big blind.
Flop:
Rattonsey tapped the table with a check and the big-blind player pumped out 2,500. The under-the-gun player then made the call and the action was sent back to Rattonsey. At this point Rattonsey check-shoved all in for 37,000. This scared away his two opponents and Rattonsey took down the handy little pot to sit with a healthy stack.
Adam Monaghan opened with a raise to 2,600 and picked up one caller on the button before the small blind put on the squeeze to 10,000. Monaghan continued the aggression with a re-raise to 23,800 which forced the button to fold. The small blind looked at Monaghan’s remaining 20,000 and motioned his chips all in, but Monaghan beat him into the pot and proudly opened . His opponent showed and couldn’t connect as the board ran out .
Three players were in the pot pre-flop for 2,500, including small blind (and Day 1c chip leader) Lee Sang Yong. He checked to the big blind on a queen-high flop, . The big blind's bet of 4,400 chased the third player in the hand and was called by Lee.
The turn fell . Again Lee checked and called, this time for 6,400. On the river Lee checked a third time but this time his opponent wisely checked behind. Lee showed for top pair of queens to take the pot.
"I was thinking of betting again," said the big blind. "I guess it's good that I didn't!"
While Day 2 of the APPT Cebu Main Event continues on, we thought we would take a look at the results of last night's side event.
The Omaha tournament saw 58 players create a prize pool of ₱1,265,850. The final table featured the likes of Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang and Julian Hasse, the latter of which is currently sitting as one of the chip leaders in the main event.
The winner ended up being Hoi Ting Lee (below), the victory seeing him net ₱417,700.
