Two members of the 888poker Stream Team will be among the 13 returning players in the Mega Knockout Side Event. Initially slated to be a one-day tournament, the €165 buy-in attracted a field of 294 entries for a €44,100 prize pool and the last 13 contenders bagged up for the night. They will be back at 4pm local time to play for the biggest slice of the cash pool along with €50 bounties for each opponent they send to the rail.
Local player Carlos Avila Ortega leads the way with a stack of 930,000 but hot on his heels is David Gibson with a stack of 830,000. The second Stream Member in contention is Jordan Banfield, who has a healthy stack of 595,000 and sits in seventh place for the restart.

Both 888poker Stream Team members have locked up €535 in cash so far while Gibson also mentioned on Twitter to have racked up quite a few bounties already. The winner of the event can look forward to a cash prize worth €5,980 and Gibson as well as Banfield can be expected to enter Day 1c of the €1,100 Main Event once their journey in the Side Event has concluded.

The 2022 888poker LIVE Barcelona stop is gearing up for the business end of the series, which is set to conclude on May 23, 2022 at Casino Barcelona. All eyes are set on the €1,100 Main Event, which has thus far attracted 166 entries in total. However, the biggest attendance can be expected in the final starting day with a regular level structure of 45 minutes.
As of 5pm local time, Day 1c will commence and it wouldn't be much of a surprise if the total field size will more than double as a result. All participants start with 30,000 in chips, which represents 300 big blinds in the first two levels of the day. A total of ten levels of 45 minutes each are scheduled with a break after level three and six.

Throughout the entire day, unlimited re-entries are available and the late registration also continues for another two levels into Day 2 on Sunday, May 22, 2022 as of 3pm local time. So far, 39 players on Day 1a and another 24 contestants on Day 1b have secured their seat for the race towards the money bubble and many more will join them in the last two flights.
Besides Day 1c, one further chance awaits prior to Day 2 as the turbo heat 1d will kick off at 11am local time.

Back in 2017 the 888poker LIVE tour headed to Barcelona for the first time and Luigi Shehadeh came out on top of an 609 entry strong field to claim the top prize of €110,000. In 2018, Adrian Constantin and Joel Isla Gonzalo cut a heads-up deal to secure €114,025 each and Constantin won the following duel for the trophy.
In September of the same year, local live poker veteran Sergio Alonso Camunas won the 888poker-sponsored Circuito Nacional de Poker (CNP) stop at the venue. For his efforts in the €550 Main Event, the Spaniard padded his bankroll with a payday of €70,000. Gabriele Rossi then followed in the footsteps of fellow countryman Shehadeh in 2019 to claim €110,000 after topping a field of 551 entries.

Whether or not the 2022 edition will reach the same heights as the previous three 888poker LIVE Main Events at Casino Barcelona remains to be seen. Doru Craciun limped and Petru Tarlev raised to 300 from one seat over which led to a call by Jose Alberto Hernandez Diego in the big blind. Craciun then limp-raised to 1,700 and Tarlev called.
On the flop, Craciun continued for 2,000 and received a call before he made it 5,000 to go on the turn. Tarlev used nearly his entire 30-second time bank before folding.

Jose Maria Martinez Vizcaino raised the button and was called by Miquel Riera Gaja and Ankur Sharma in the blinds. The flop was checked to the initial raiser who bet 300. Sharma was the only caller and checked the turn. Martinez Vizcaino now bet 1,100 and that won the pot.

Picking up the action on the flop, Jorge Ufano check-raised to 1,700 out of the small blind and was called by Sawas Charalambous from one seat over. Ufano bet the turn for 6,700 to receive a call and fired another 13,400 on the river.
Charalambous mulled it over for a while and sent the cards into the muck.

On the tail end of a heads-up pot between Zaharia-Mihai Borlovan and Kian Khaleghian, the board showed . Borlovan check-called a bet worth 1,500 and Khaleghian tabled the for a busted flush draw, which he had beat with the .
"I wanted the flush," Khaleghian joked and Borlovan replied "me too".
