Stanciu Shoves the Turn

Traian Stanciu raised his button to 500,000 chips and Maurice Nass made the call from the big blind. Nass then checked to Stanciu on the 6♦3♣K♦ flop and the latter put forth a bet of 375,000.

Nass raised that to 850,000 and Stanciu put in a call. On the 5♥ turn, Nass downsized to 500,000 chips and Stanciu took the opportunity to put his opponent all-in for 6,100,000 total.

Nass quickly let it go, granting Stanciu a two-to-one chip advantage.

Stanciu Takes the Lead

The first two pots of heads-up were min-raised and traded between the players without any showdown.

Maurice Nass then raised to 500,000 on the button and Traian Stanciu called in the big blind. On the 9♠6♠5♥ flop, Stanciu check-called a bet of 650,000 and they checked down the 4♥ turn as well as the 5♦ river.

Stanciu revealed the K♥6♥ for sixes and fives to win the pot, gaining a narrow lead in the process.

Stanciu Keeps Climbing

Duc Tuan Tran opened to 500,000 on the button and Traian Stanciu defended his big blind to see the 9♠2♣K♠ flop.

Stanciu checked and called after Tran fired 400,000. Both players then checked the J♥ turn before the dealer revealed the J♦ river.

Stanciu led out with a bet of 1,700,000 and Tran took some time before the call. Stanciu showed Q♣J♠ for trip jacks to take over the chip lead.

Tran then led for 400,000 on the Q♣ river.

"Scary," said Nass before tossing in a call.

Tran showed 8♠7♠ but the two pair was no good against the A♥A♦ of Nass, who played a better two pair with his aces and jacks.

Nass Bluffs At the Wrong Time

In a limped battle of the blinds to the K♦9♠3♥ flop, Maurice Nass checked and Traian Stanciu bet 200,000. Nass check-raised to 450,000 and Stanciu called.

Nass then bet the 9♦ turn for 375,000 to earn a call before he shoved the 4♠ river, Stanciu beat him into the pot.

Nass shook his head and announced ten-high while flashing only the 10♥. By then, Stanciu had already revealed his 9♣3♦ for a full house and the 2♥ of Nass were also flipped over. The Romanian doubled for 1,585,000 and pulled ahead of Nass.
