Nicolas Chouity Double Up

We arrived on site with a board of {J-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} and four players in the pot (including a very short Nicolas Chouity). The blinds checked to Chouity and he bet 1,600 and Con Tsapkounis called in the cut-off. Both blinds folded and before the dealer could give us the turn card Chouity had moved his last 800 chips across the line. The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and Tsapkounis called the Chouity all-in and we had a showdown.

Showdown

Chouity{K-Spades} {7-Spades} {7-Hearts} {6-Hearts}
Tsapkounis{A-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {6-Spades} {5-Spades}

The river bricked for Tsapkounis and Chouity doubled up.

The Devilfish Loses a Few Irritable Pots

Dave Ulliot

We joined the action on a flop of {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} and 1,500 in the pot. Devilfish had checked to the player on the button and he bet 500. Devilfish thought for a brief while and then made the call. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Devilfish checked and the player on the button bet 1,400 and the Devilfish folded.

"Can I have my 500 back mate, I didn't really want to call the flop," asked the Fish.

A few hands later and another flop. This time it was {K-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {2-Diamonds} and there was 1,300 in the pot. Devilfish had bet 1,000 and Bernard Guigon moved all-in and Devilfish folded.

"You could have done that ten-minutes ago and I still would have folded," said the Fish alluding to the inordinate amount of time Guigon took to make his decision.

Well Hello There, Mister Kostritsyn

We caught the action on the turn in a big pot between four players. The board read {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{9-Hearts} and one of the unknown player bet out 1,500. Salman Behbehani, the chip leader, made the call as did Alexander Kostritsyn who was one of the late entrants into this event. Mike Leah was last to act and he decided to raise to 5,000 and the initial better called, Behbehani folded and Kostritsyn called all-in for a total of 4,175 chips.

The river was the {8-Hearts} and Leah bet 2,500 getting his final opponent to fold. Kostritsyn showed {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for a rivered flush and utterly frustrated Leah mucked his cards. This big pot got shipped to the mixed game specialist who has won just under three million dollars in his live tournament career.

Metaal Check Raised The Champ

On a {7-Spades}{5-Spades}{A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{2-Spades} board Govert Metaal checked to Steve Billirakis who bet 600 into a small pot. The best Dutch player on the live circuit of 2011 threw in a check raise to 2,500 and that got Billirakis tanking. After a while he folded and said, "I guess I shouldn't have bet". Metaal produced a little smile as he was stacking the chips. Both players are doing well and could be clashing again shortly.
