Miltiadis Kyriakides and Sergey Tikhonov were both getting short. Tikhonov looked down at and Kyriakides decided was good enough to go with.
Each put their stack in the center preflop and Tikhonov had a relatively easy sweat with a board, sending Kyriakides to the rail and climbing just a bit out of the danger zone.

Georgios Zisimopoulos raised to 55,000 from the cutoff and Michael Ruane three-bet to 155,000 from the button, which Zisimopoulos called. On the flop and the turn, both players checked. Zisimopoulos also checked the on the river and folded when Ruane made it 175,000 to go.
Jonathan Dwek opened with a raise to 60,000 from the cutoff. Next to act was Johannes Becker who put in a three-bet, making it 165,000 to play. Action folded around and Dwek called.
The flop came down and Dwek checked to Becker who thought for about 30 seconds before putting out a bet of 120,000. Dwek called quickly.
On the turn, Dwek checked again, then quickly called a bet of 250,000 from Becker. The on the river earned checks from both players.
"I have an ace," Dwek said, showing . Becker nodded then mucked his hand. That awarded the pot to Dwek while the Poker Player's Championship runner-up took a big dent to his stack.
On the last hand before break, Richard Gryko raised to 54,000 in late position and Thissa Desilva defended his big blind. The flop came and Desilva checked. Gryko bet 42,000 and Desilva check-raised to 125,000. Gryko called and the turn was the . Desilva led out 145,000 and Gryko called.
They both checked the river and Desilva's for two pair was good for the pot, as the players started heading on break.
Clint Tolbert raised to 50,000 and Sebastien Comel three-bet to 155,000. Florian Lohnert then four-bet to 365,000. Action was back on Tolbert who five-bet jammed for 1,673,000. Comel folded and Lohnert called.
