More for Mombourquette as Davis Bows Out

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Richard Mombourquette
Richard Mombourquette

On a flop of {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, Randall Davis got the remainder of his stack in with {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} only to see Richard Mombourquette quickly call with the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for top set. It was all over for Davis on the {8-Diamonds} turn, making the {A-Clubs} river a formality.

Bill Klein Nabs a Crucial Double

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Bill Klein
Bill Klein

Bill Klein fell short earlier in the day, losing some chips and putting him close to a 10-big-blind stack. He got his last 142,000 all in before the flop again Jeff Frerichs and was called and put at risk.

Klein: {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Frerich: {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{K-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and that made Klein's seven kicker just good enough to earn the double, putting him a little bit closer to where he started the day.

Down to 60 Players

Nível 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

As the second level of the day has kicked off, the tournament screens show 60 players remaining and Gregory Dodson was the last casualty. Preston Hartmann and Richard Mombourquette were able to build their stacks with the former taking on Gina Bacon in a bigger pot.

Manuel Sadornil is on the very same table and just got involved in two hands as well. First he bet a heads-up flop of {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for 25,000 and David Ives raised it up to 65,000 in the big blind, Sadornil let go. The next hand, Peter Smaha in the cutoff raised and Sadornil three-bet to 81,000 in order to force a fold and recover the lost chips from before.

Heimiller Bounding

Nível 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Dan Heimiller
Dan Heimiller

William Pitts opened with a raise to 42,000 from under the gun. Action folded to Dan Heimiller in the small blind and he decided to reraise, moving all in with a covering stack.

"Well, I came here to win," Pitts said. "I call."

Pitts: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Heimiller: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The flop was safe for Pitts when it came {4-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}, but it gave Heimiller extra outs to a flush draw. The {9-Clubs} on the turn was safe, but the {10-Spades} on the river completed the flush and eliminated Pitt from the tournament.

"I'm not marrying her now," Pitts said about the dealer.

"I thought he had a pair," Heimiller said. "I wasn't sure how big, but I was ready to gamble."

Heimiller now has a commanding chip lead over the field and will look to grow that even more here on Day 3.

Frerichs Finds Aces in the Big Blind

Nível 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Patrick Oconnor and Larry Wright were the next two casualties. Oconnor got it in for around 200,000 with king-jack only to see Jeff Frerichs snap-call out of the big blind with {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}. The board came {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and Oconnor failed to get there.

James Also Sends Canowitz to the Rail

Nível 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

David James was moved tables and got seated in the small blind. He faced the shove of short-stack Howard Canowitz for 31,000 and three-bet to 55,000 in order to isolate successfully.

Canowitz: {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
James: {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}

"I haven't sucked out yet in this tournament," Canowitz joked and added after the {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop, "Give me a queen."

James replied with a, "Give me an ace," and neither wish was granted as the board completed with the {J-Clubs} turn and {8-Clubs} river.

Long Tank Pays Off for Timothy Gray

Nível 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Timothy Gray opened with a raise to 30,000 from middle position. To his immediate left was Kam Low, who decided to reraise for 92,000. Action folded back to Gray and he fell deep into the tank, where he stayed for several minutes.

"Sorry guys," Gray said a couple minutes into his tank. "I just have to think about this."

Gray stared intently at Low for about 30 seconds before he finally announced that he was all in. Low quickly called.

Gray: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Low: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The flop put Gray in the lead when it came {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, but it also gave him a sweat as it brought Low a flush draw. Low bricked out on the {4-Hearts} turn and {9-Diamonds} river though, and Gray earned the double-up.

"Sorry guys, it was just a lot to think about with the pay jump happening," Gray said after the hand. "I mean, it's an extra $1,500, so why not wait?"

And Gray's tank did pay off in more ways than one, not only earning him the double-up, but the payout jump as well.

Licastro: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Olson: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

Nível 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Bucar moved all in for 50,000 and David James reshoved from one seat over to get everyone else out of the way.

Bucar: {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
