Event #18: $565 Pot-Limit Omaha Day 1b Starts at 4
The second flight of the PLO-lossus, or Event #18: $565 Pot-Limit Omaha starts at 4 p.m. This is an unlimited reentry tournament that yielded a prize pool of over $1.2 million last year with 2,483 entries. Ryan Laplante won his first WSOP bracelet in this event and is the defending champion. He took the first-place prize of $190,328.
This is the second of two total starting flights. Day 1b will run for 18 30-minute levels and players will start with 5,000 chips. Late registration is open for the first six levels and players have unlimited reentries during that time. Last year, the first few levels of this tournament were completely wild and players couldn't seem to buy in fast enough. This is the second year for this event, which was a success last year. Last year's event became the largest live pot-limit Omaha tournament in history.
The 2017 WSOP is in full swing with several events wrapping up today in Brasilia, but Event #18 — which is possibly the most exciting — is kicking off what is sure to be an exciting Day 1b at 4 p.m. in the Amazon room,

Mike Dentale was heads up on a flop and check-called 650.
The turn was the and he bet the pot by tossing out 3,500 chips. The pot was only 1,950 but it got the job done and his opponent folded.
Jason Mercier, Eric Lindgren, and former WSOP Player of the Year Tom Schneider have also joined the field.

There are notable players and recognizable faces throughout the field, and sometimes a bunch of them end up at the same table.
Adam Owen, Naoya Kihara, David Williams, and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Howard "Tahoe" Andrew are all at the same table.
And the reward for best table change so far goes to three-time WSOP bracelet winner Rep Porter who spent about two minutes at his first table and then moved to the right of five-time WSOP bracelet winner Jason Mercier.
