Event #12: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em
Dia 1 Iniciado
Already nearly a week in, the 2017 World Series of Poker is in full swing and today Event #12: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em is next up on the schedule.
In 2016, this event attracted 2,016 entrants and generated a prize pool of $2,721,600. Peter Echhardt won this event last year to take home his first WSOP gold bracelet and $438,417. Eichhardt Hails from Stockholm, Sweden and has six WSOP cashes to his name totaling $490,917.
Expect this field to have some very stiff competition as last year attracted some big names like Jason Koon, Allen Kessler, Kyle Julius, Matt Jarvis, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Michael Rocco, Ryan Smith, Mike Leah, Matt Berkey, Anthony Zinno, Michael Addamo and John Racener.
The tournament starts at 11 a.m. local time and players will play ten 60-minute levels before bagging for Day 2. This is a three-day event and there will be a 20-minute break every two levels. Players will start with 7,500 in chips and late registration is open until the end of the dinner break, which is after Level 6 (around 7:10 p.m).

The tournament director has given all the particulars to the players and announced, "Shuffle up and deal!" Cards are in the air and we are set for 10 levels of action-packed poker! Stay tuned.
We are over 1,000 entrants to start the day and I expect that number to get closer to 2,000 by the time things are all said and done.
Two notables in the field right off the top are Maurice Hawkins and Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler.
Hawkins has 10 WSOP Circuit rings and is in search of his first WSOP bracelet this year. With over $2.5 million in live recorded earnings, this beast of a player is surely one to watch.
Kessler needs no real introduction, as anyone who knows poker knows "Chainsaw." He has over $3.4 million in live recorded earnings and three WSOP Circuit rings. He has cashed 100 times in WSOP events and if the cards go his way, he will be looking at a deep run and a shot at his first WSOP bracelet.

Bryan Piccioli and Andy Frankenberger are both in the mix. These two players have both earned WSOP bracelets with Frankenberger holding two and Piccioli one.
