Leiva on a Winning Roll

Nível 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Carlos Leiva won two hands in a row. On the first hand Ren Lin was under the gun and min raised to 800 blind which he called a straddle. The player in the cutoff three-bet to 2,400. Leiva called on the button and Lin called. The flop came out with 6Q8 and Lin checked and the cutoff bet 3,500. Leiva called and Lin was told he was being moved to another table so he stacked up his chips and folded, probably to the relief of some and the disappointment of others.

On the turn Q both players checked.

Then the river A came and the cutoff moved all in for effective 7,400 and Leiva called immediately and flipped over AA for the set of aces.
The cutoff stated, "Wow you slow played them", and flipped over K9.

On the second hand all of the action occurred preflop where the player in early position moved all in for his last 7,100 and Leiva called from the hijack position.

Early position: QQ All in
Carlos Leiva: AK

The board ran with 6J10K7 and Leiva won with his pair of kings.

"No Gamble No Future"

Nível 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

When Ren Lin shows up at your table get ready for action and today is no exception. Ren Lin was seated in early position and offered to double straddle if the player under the gun straddled. The dealer indicated this was not allowed and he stated, "Can't I blind raise?" The dealer called the floor who allowed the madness.

The player under the gun min raised to 800 blind and Lin in early position three-bet to 1,600 blind and the cutoff flat called not blind. The flop came out A8K and both early players checked and the cutoff led out for 1,200 and only Lin called.

On the turn 7 Lin took the lead and bet out 3,500 and the cutoff called.

The river 7 had Lin shoving his stack in for about 13,000 more and the cutoff folded.

Lin joked, "No gamble no future", and showed the 102 for the bluff.

Assorted Counts from the Field

Kim Makes Quads

Nível 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

On the board 210QJJ, Kenneth Kim came over the top of his opponent’s river bet of 8,700 to put him all in. The player did not have many chips left behind and looked pained to have to fold to the raise.

It’s safe to say it was a good fold, as Kim turned over JJ for quads and added to his already a very healthy stack.

Soria Calls the Bluff

Nível 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action was caught on the river, where the board read 10386A. Rolando Soria was facing an all-in bet from his opponent, which was for Soria’s remaining 22,000 chips. Before the bet, the pot was 18,600.

After thinking for some time, Soria put in the call. His opponent immediately said: “You’re good” and flipped over 32 for a flopped pair of threes. Soria opened A7 for the rivered pair of aces.

Five to a Flop, Bielan Out on Top

Nível 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Judith Bielan
Judith Bielan

The pot stood at 5,300 with five players heading to a flop of 575.

All five players checked through to the 8 on the turn. The big blind checked and Judith Bielan, who was under the gun, took the lead for 1,800. Of the four players left in the hand, only the hijack and the big blind called.

The 2 river checked to a showdown. Bielan tabled J5 having flopped trips; good enough to see both the hijack's A7 and the big blinds holding into the muck.

Jankowski Makes the Right Call

Nível 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The pot stood at approximately 4,000 with three players looking at a flop of K102.

The small blind and the under-the-gun player checked the action to John Jankowski, in middle position. Jankowski bet out 3,000 and the small blind moved all in for 10,500. The under-the-gun player folded and Jankowski called.

Small Blind: A6 All in
John Jankowski: 107

Jankowski was ahead but needed to fade some outs to eliminate his opponent. The 8 turn and 10 river saw Jankowski improve to trips to send his opponent to the rail.
