Tamayo Turns Reid to the Rail

Abdullah Al-Shanti opened to 100,000 from under the gun before Jonathan Tamayo three-bet to 375,000 from middle position.

James Reid moved all in for his last 865,000 on Tamayo's direct left. Action folded to Al-Shanti, who opted to fold after some brief thought. Tamayo put in calling chips for the cards to go on their backs.

Tamayo paired up on the K103 flop but Reid remained ahead. However, the A turn gave Tamayo the lead.

Reid called for a jack but the 3 river confirmed his exit instead. Reid passed on his trusty shot glass to Tamayo.

Tamayo told the the table that he doesn't drink but would do shots of apple juice out of it instead.

Portaleoni Doubles Off Mixson on the River

Rodrigo Portaleoni moved all in for around 650,000 from the big blind on a flop of 55A and Cameron Mixson called in the cutoff.

Mixson had two pair, while Portaleoni was looking to complete a flush draw. The 4 turn was no help, but the 4 river made his flush and earned Portaleoni a double up.

James Wins a Classic Flip to Double

Jason James opened to 100,000 from under the gun before Wai Kit Lo three-bet to 325,000 in middle position. Action folded back around to James, who moved all in for 1,875,000. After aksing for a count, Lo made the call with the covering stack.

It was a classic race but one that James emerged best in after the board ran out KK96A to improve him to a full house, keeping his tournament hopes alive while dealing a hefty blow to Lo.

Kyosev Makes Wysocki Fold the River

On the last table remaining in the Horseshoe Silver section, Szymon Wysocki opened from under the gun to 100,000 and Daniel Kyosev called from the next seat. Kalyan Chivukula also called from the cutoff.

The three players saw a flop of 1010Q which was checked through to the 3 turn. Chivukula and Wysocki checked, Kyosev bet 225,000, and only Wysocki called.

On the 9 river, Wysocki checked it over to Kyosev, who bet 550,000. Wysocki thought about it for a while before he eventually laid his hand down.

Alex-Barton Sends Wendorf into the Tank

Bruno Porto opened to 110,000 from middle position with 1010 and Daniel Wendorf called from the hijack with JJ. Charles Alex-Barton three-bet to 460,000 from the cutoff with AK and both the blinds folded. Porto took some time but folded his tens and Wendorf called Alex-Barton the raise.

The flop came 87K. Wendorf checked to Alex-Barton who bet 250,000. Wendorf called.

The K turn brought a flush draw for Wendorf, but the trip kings for Alex-Barton. Wendorf checked and Alex-Barton moved all in for 1,530,000, sending Wendorf into the tank.

Ordet Flips Back Into Contention

Kevin Ordet three-bet jammed for the last 280,000 out of the small blind and was looked up only by Sami Bechahed in the under-the-gun position.

The pocket pair remained ahead all the way on the Q4253 runout as Ordet survived to extend his deep run.

Boris Kolev was not as fortunate and bowed out recently, as did David Prociak and Yiannis Liperis.

Coelho Empties the Clip

Diogo Coelho opened to 100,000 on the button and Troy Quenneville defended his big blind.

Quenneville check-called a 90,000 bet from Coelho on the 9QK flop and a hefty 725,000 bet from Coelho on the 8 turn.

The 10 completed the board and Quenneville checked a final time, prompting Coelho to shove, which was enough to put Quenneville all in for approximately 2,600,000.

Quenneville tanked for some time, but eventually thought better of it and laid his hand down.

"Show one?" Quenneville asked.

"No," Coelho responded with a grin.

Moroz Continues to Run Well

Orson Young opened to 105,000 from middle position before Jimmy Gorham made it 275,000 on his direct left. Yegor Moroz four-bet to 620,000 from the cutoff, folding out the button, the blinds and Young. Gorham then moved all in for around 1,500,000 and was snap-called by Moroz.

Davis Spikes a King to Stun Maruo

Tasuku Maruo was all in for around 1,500,000 from early position as Kevin Davis put him at risk from the hijack.

Maruo had woken up with aces in a massive cooler as the 763 flop left him poised for a double up. The turn, though, was the K and Davis hit a set to take the lead.

The river was the J and Davis took the pot to send Maruo to the rail following a brutal bad beat.
