Kitchen’s Nines Good for Win

Nível 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Frank Kitchens limped in late position, and then action folded to the blinds, where the small blind called and the big blind checked his option.

The dealer fanned 9104 on the board, and both players in the blinds checked. Kitchens bet 1,100, which drew check-calls from both players in the blinds.

The Q saw all three players check, as did the 5 on the river.

Kitchens tabled A9 for a pair of nines, and his two opponents mucked their hands. While it was a small pot, Kitchens added to his chip stack.

Brad Ruben
Brad Ruben

Picking up the action on the flop, Brad Ruben in the big blind was involved in a hand with a player on the button.

With the board reading 1049 Ruben checked. His opponent bet 1,100 only to see Ruben raise to 3,800. The button player made the call to see a turn.

The turn came 6 and saw Ruben move all in for his remaining 14,000. That did not sit too well with the button player but they did make the call with the covering stack to put Ruben at risk.

Brad Ruben: Q10 All in
Button Player: Q4

Ruben was ahead with top pair and managed to dodge the flush draw and any four on the 10 river to score a double late in the night.

Nível 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

On a completed board of 49710A, Vincent Wan made a bet of 17,000 into the pot of 35,000.

His opponent was Thomas Murphy, who thought it over for a bit and fired 50,000 chips in the middle. Wan could only sigh as he mucked his cards and was left with less than 40 big blinds.

Hua-wei Lin

Sergei Gurin opened the cutoff and Hua-Wei Lin three-bet to 5,500 from the small blind. The big blind folded, and Gurin called.

On the 3Q4 flop, Lin fired a continuation-bet of 4,000, and Gurin made the call.

When the 8 hit the turn, Lin made another bet of 7,000. Gurin then made a tiny raise to 15,500, and after some thinking, Lin called.

The 8 river paired the board and Lin checked it over to Gurin, who after a long pause, announced a bet of 50,000. Lin had slightly over 50,000 in her stack and was in the tank for around three minutes when she apologized to her table for taking a long time. The table didn't call the clock and around a minute later, Lin dropped in the call.

Gurin flipped over J9 for a bluff, and Lin tabled KK for a pair of kings to claim the pot.

"Nice call," said several of the table to the Taiwanese player.

Schwartz Folds to Gan's Pressure

Nível 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Haozhe Gan raised to 1,500 from the cutoff and was called by the player on the button and Jake Schwartz in the small blind for a three-way pot.

Schwartz checked to Gan on the 5JA flop and he continued for 2,500. Both the button and Schwartz called.

The 4 fell on the turn and Schwartz again checked. Gan bet 10,000 and this time only Schwartz called.

Gan fired a final barrel for 26,000 on the 10 river and Schwartz let his hand go.

On a flop of J32, Shachar Haran bet 2,000 from under the gun and called a raise to 5,000 by Charles Culpepper. The 5 turn saw Haran check and subsequently call Culpepper's bet of 12,000 before they checked the Q on the river.

Culpepper tabled his J10 but Haran had him pipped with the AJ.

"That was the second time already," Culpepper grimaced in table chat to Haran.

Fiechter Sends Zhang Home

Nível 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

The action was caught on a turn of 7394, where Philipp Fiechter made a bet of 15,000 from the hijack and was called by Yizhe Zhang on the button.

The river brought the 8 and Fiechter instantly moved all in, covering Zhang's stack of 21,200.

Zhang thought about it for a bit before calling off for his tournament life. Fiechter shrugged his shoulders and tabled QQ for a pair of queens, after which Zhang mucked his cards in defeat and left the tournament area.

Sitbon Gets Away from Kings

Nível 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Julien Sitbon
Julien Sitbon

With the 1054 flop already on the felt, Julien Sitbon was in the tank as he faced a check-jam from Roland Nezaj. According to the table, Sitbon had already been in the blender for over 15 minutes.

After some back-and-forth banter, Sitbon said, "If this were a re-entry my money would already be in."

Some more time passed and Nezaj told him to fold his hand and that he was behind. Sitbon finally let it go, and Nezaj showed him he wasn't lying as he tabled 1010 for top set. Sitbon reached into the muck and pulled his KK out as the dealer shipped the pot to Nezaj.
