Pappan Hits Quad Queens and Collects

Nível 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

There were four players still in a hand as it reached the river KAQ7Q. Douglas Pappan bet 6,000. Edward Giguere raised to 15,000. Paul Newey and James Tays folded immediately.

Action was back on Pappan who three-bet jammed for 61,700. Giguere thought about it for about 30 seconds before he called.

Pappan tabled the QQ for quad queens. Giguere showed his J10 and the dealer counted it out to confirm that Giguere was barely covered to end his Main Event.

With around 20,000 in the pot, Sammy Hakim bet 10,000 from the button on a board of A359 and Jae Yong Song called in early position.

Song checked to Hakim on the J river, and this time Hakim checked back. Song showed AJ for two pair on the river and Hakim flashed Ax3x for a beaten two pair as he mucked.

"I bet when I was ahead and checked when I was behind," Hakim reasoned with himself after the hand.

Song is part of a "Pro Team" from the Commerce Casino that is taking part in the Main Event today.

Owen Eliminated After Missing All His Outs

Nível 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Brad Owen
Brad Owen

Brad Owen was recently eliminated during Level 2 of the Main Event.

According to his former tablemates, a player in middle position opened and was called by Alvaro Vasquez in the next seat over. Brad Owen then three-bet to 3,500 in position, folding out the original raiser while Vasquez made the call.

On the rainbow 87x5x flop Vasquez checked, Owen bet 4,500, Vasquez raised to 11,000 and Owen called.

Vasquez moved all in on the 4 turn and Owen, who had about 40,000 behind and was covered, made the call and was at risk.

Brad Owen: K9 All in
Alvaro Vasquez: 99

Vasquez was ahead with his overpair but Owen still had several outs in the form of any club or king while a six would chop the pot. The 2 river was a brick and Owen was sent to the rail early in the day while Vasquez picked up a sizable early pot.
