Mcgowan Shows Down Set on Scary Board

With two players seeing a board of KJ7 and about 14,000 in the pot David McGowan checked from the blinds and his opponent checked behind.

McGowan bet 5,000 on the 10 turn and was called by his opponent.

Both players checked the 3 river. McGowan tabled JJ for a set of jacks which, despite four clubs being on the board, was good enough to take the pot.

Patent Applies the Pressure

Action was caught on the flop of 738, in a hand between David Patent in the big blind and the player in the cutoff.

With 10,000 in the pot, Patent bet 3,500 and the cutoff called. The turn landed the A and Patent fired out another bet, this time for 8,000.

The cutoff pondered his decision, before eventually arriving at a fold.

Action was picked up with 22,000 in the middle on a rainbow 832 flop.

Hermilo Garza Villareal fired 7,500 from middle position and Dallas Wilson made the call in the cutoff.

Villareal moved all in for 23,100 on the J turn and Wilson made the call.

Eric Panayiotou raised to 800 from the cutoff, the small blind three-bet to 3,200 and Panayiotou called.

The 5107 flop saw the small blind continue for 2,000. Panayiotou called.

The 3 turn checked through to the 2 on the river. The small blind checked again and Panayiotou bet out 5,000. The small blind made a crying call. Panayiotou tabled A4 having missed his flush draw, but backed into the wheel straight.

Bidinger Gets Value With Ace-High

Ken Bidinger and Akil Hollis saw the turn on a board of 743J when Bidinger led out for 3,000 from the big blind.

Hollis called in the cutoff and the 7 fell on the river. Bidinger then bet 6,000 and Hollis quickly called.

Bidinger showed AK for ace-high and Hollis flashed A2 before surrendering the pot to Bidinger.

Rohm Takes One

Action was four-way on the flop as it came 10106. Kevin Gerhart bet 2,000 from early position. Brian Altman folded from early position, Esther Taylor folded the small blind and David Rohm called in the big blind.

The turn was the 7. Both players checked to the river which was the 9. Rohm bet 4,500. Gerhart called after a moment.

Rohm tabled the 87 which was the winner.

As the players at her former table recounted, Kyna England was all in preflop with AxQx and up against James Dempsey who had her covered with KxKx.

England failed to improve while Dempsey ultimately made a set of kings on the turn to send England to the rail and continue to add chips to his stack.

Gillingham's Turn Raise Wins It

Action picked up on the turn in a hand between Matt Gillingham on the button and the player in the big blind.

With about 4,500 in the pot and the board reading QK8A, the big blind led out for 2,700 and Gillingham raised to 9,000.

The big blind thought for a moment, before tossing his cards into the muck.

Lofberg Puts Cole to Ultimate Test

Simon Lofberg opened the action from middle position with a raise to 700. Montgomery Cole three-bet to 2,000 from the cutoff and Lofberg made the call.

Lofberg led into Cole for 1,600 on 8107 before Cole raised to 4,000. Lofberg asked for all of Cole's chips by putting in another raise to 24,000. After a short tank, Cole folded QQ face up and Lofberg was awarded the pot.
